From Library Journal
In the 15 years since its inception, coronary artery bypass surgery has become one of the most common operations performed. Kra asks: Is this surgery being overused? He discusses alternatives to surgery that he feels are better, in some cases, than surgery. His chapter on medical treatment of angina looks at beta-blocking drugs, vitamin E, and aspirin and presents an easy-to-understand explanation of what the drugs can and cannot do. There is a chapter devoted to exercise and jogging and their effects on the heart. A good treatment on a type of surgery that is much in the medical news of late, recommended for public library collections. Linda Morgan Davis, Physicians Insuraance Co. of Ohio (PICO) Lib., Columbus
