About the Author

Marguerite Patten is one of Britain's most famous cookery writers, with over 160 cookery books, many of them bestsellers, to her credit. In the Queen's Birthday Honours June 1991 she was awarded the OBE for her services to the art of cookery and in 1995 she was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Guild of Food Writers. She was recently the subject of BBC1's popular tribute programme This is Your Life (February 2000).

This was used by our dining club to prepare a formal banquet. Lots of interesting menus from 4 coronations, and lots of historical anecdotes. The book includes the formal Buckingham Palace Banquets, as well as menus for the street parties. Lots of fun for a themed dinner party.
