Adam Grossman formed this band previously to "Skrew". Of course this band was put to rest and he only released two albums under "Angkor Wat". The style here is a form of thrash, this was recorded in 1990 at the last stage of the gold years of thrash. Do not hope to find a bay area sound here, this album contains hints of mechanical systems and industrial effects, but it is not an industrial album as the skrew albums (at least the two first skrew albums). Lack of energy?, no way boy, there is no room for lazy hands in here, all the songs are played fast and energetically; of course Adam is not a superstar singer but his voice fits the music very well, it is hard to follow him and some words are not very clear but i like that a lot, he is not worried about the pace of the syllables. If you like Skrew then this is definitely for you, if you like/love thrash then you have to like this stuff, if you are an industrial fan then you may like this. I believe that these guys were trying to do something a little different and among hundreds of american thrash bands they do sound differently. Metal is played with conviction in this chapter. Of course this is not a groundbreaking album but a very good one i think, it is worth checking out.
