Biography

Formed by Matti & Grant in December 1988, purpose: to perform Carcass covers exclusively from the 1st album. Name thought up by Matti, derived from some graphical medical handbook, an interest which Matti and Grant shared with a certain morbidity. Inconsistent line-up. Inspired by seminal Stockholm noisecore band Berbe (part of Matti's unkown dark past.) Managed to rehearse a few Carcass covers… Read more in Amazon's General Surgery Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitive sound!, April 28, 2009
This review is from: Corpus in Extremis (Audio CD)
Excellent follow up to their first release. General surgery have created a disc that is not only more brutal and relentless than the first, but they also have mastered the style. The sound of the disc is incredible. The mixing of the instruments and the vocals is top notch. The music really fits the concepts of the songs, in that it sounds insane but performed with surgical precison.Every riff and drum beat fits perfectly with nothing out of place( no filler beat/ boring solos). I've been listening to the music( DM/grind/gore) for over 20 years, and i'm glad to see that these guys are in top form. These guys have in my opinion mastered the style.2nd only to Carcass (reek of putrefaction) it blow's all the clone band attempts away. This CD is a MUST buy.
