Book Description

First in a new series about some hard-riding rodeo cowboys...and the women who can rein them in.

Sports therapist Lainie Capshaw has been rehabilitating injured cowboys long enough to know that a charming western drawl combined with a fine physical form doesn't mean you fall for the man.

So no one is more surprised than Lainie when she finds herself involved with not one, but two different men: Hank Lawson, a bullfighter, and Kyle Gilchrist, a bull rider. Lainie feels guilty about her two-timing, but it doesn't keep her from doubling her fun-that is until Hank catches her with Kyle.

She's shocked that Hank isn't mad. But she's more shocked to learn Hank and Kyle are hometown buddies. But when the men offer to share her-in every way-she knows that she's going to have to choose the one man who can give her the ride of her life...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Start To A New Series August 5, 2010
Format:Paperback
Whoo-ee! Lorelei James does it again! I have recently become a fan of Lorelei James' Rough Riders series so when I heard she had a whole new series about to release I was all over it. I couldn't wait to dig into another luscious cowboy story. To say that I had high expectations for Corralled is an understatement. I was not disappointed.

Kyle Gilchrist--bull rider and Hank Lawson--bull fighter, have been friends since childhood. They've gone their own way in life but now they have reunited on the rodeo circuit and plan to be traveling partners. That's the plan until they discover they've both been seeing the same woman.

Lainie Capshaw is a med-tech spending lots of time on the road as she works two different rodeo circuits providing first-aid and medical treatment to rodeo competitors. Since she's on the road so much, there's not a lot of time for relationships but it's nice to spend a little time with a sexy cowboy now and then. She's had a part time fling going with Hank for a while and it's worked out well. No promises, just occasional casual dating and some quality time between the sheets. But when she meets Kyle the chemistry between them is off the charts so why not enjoy his part time company as well? She's feeling just a little guilty about seeing two men at the same time but since both relationships are casual she's going with it. Until she finds out that Hank and Kyle are friends. Both still want her and but she refuses to choose one over the other and doesn't want to become between their friendship.

Hank and Kyle come up with a solution. They will share Lainie if she's up for it. Both men are alpha and competitive by nature so this could be a win/win for Lainie. Due to a forced vacation, she's got time on her hands so she hits the road with the boys as they compete for her affections and try to win her heart while seeing to her physical pleasure as well. *waggles eyebrows* Let me just say that both Kyle and Hank are delicious, but Hank had my heart from the get go. MINE!

I love a good m/f/m romance. Unfortunately I'm not always convinced of the relationship dynamics since jealousy, and competitiveness is a fact of human nature and not easily overcome even in best of situations. That is part of why I loved Corralled. Although it was Kyle and Hank's idea to share, both went into the three way relationship with the idea of winning Lainie over. Neither one of them thought of the three way relationship as an indefinite situation, both looking to win Lainie's heart in the end. But even though they are both competitive, they are also life long friends and seemed to respect each other despite the jealousies that arose. I really felt like this was a very believable relationship and loved how the men respected Lainie, as well as each other, and managed preserve their friendship. I was a little surprised at how agreeable they both were to sharing in the first place though. Being alpha men, it seems like they both would have been more resistant in the beginning. I suppose the opportunity to have an ongoing threesome with a desirable woman made the decision easier. :) Lainie goes into the relationship with excitement but with several reservations as well. She doesn't want to come between friends and at one point wants to walk away without either man in the best interest of their friendship. With a little convincing from her best friend, she gets on board the three way train eventually.

The main focus of the story is on the romantic relationships between Kyle, Lainie and Hank. But we also get a chance to learn about some about their familial relationships. Each has an interesting past and in the process of learning more about these three characters we're introduced to secondary characters that will hopefully be stepping up in future books in the series. I especially liked Hank's rebellious younger sister Celia and Lainie's best friend and champion barrel racer Tanna. Both hold their own being surrounded by cowboys in a male dominated sport and I look forward to seeing them both again as the series progresses.

For fans of the Rough Riders series don't worry, you won't be miss out on all the goodness you've come to love in a Lorelei James cowboy romance. You still get smokin' hot cowboys, and lots of western charm. Corralled is a great start to another erotically charged western romance series. Be warned though, you may be tempted to pull up roots and hit the road in search of your own rodeo cowboy. :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Corralled by Lorelei James August 4, 2010
Format:Paperback
Lanie Capshaw, Med Tech extraordinaire is being very naughty seeing two men at the same time. Now, she has not promised monotony to either of them, nor them in return, so although she feels slightly guilty, she is not necessarily doing anything wrong. She is more perplexed at who she would choose if it ever came down to a choice. Because of her job, she works for both Cowboy Rodeo Association (CRA) and Extreme Bull Showcase (EBS) and she has found herself a hot cowboy from each league. It started first with Hank, Bull Fighter for the CRA. They started a bit slow, and Hank is more vanilla in the bedroom. When she met Kyle, more the opposite of Hank, he showed her how good he could give a ride on their first date. Things go from fun nakey time in the bedroom to very complicated when both men show up, at the same time, and Lanie realizes they are best friends.

To say Hank and Kyle are stunned they are dating the same woman in an understatement. Both are very competitive and don't want the other to have her. Kyle recently decided to give the CRA a try, meaning they will be on the same circuit. So the come up with a plan - for the next three weeks they will be traveling together, so why not have Lanie with them as well. Lanie makes it very clear she can't choose between them and that this is their plan. The three of them hitch up the trailer, grab the lube and giddy up.

This is the first time I have read Lorelei James and I have had many people tell me she write fabulous, very naughty cowboy books. And I thought - ok, a dirty book - been there done that. But no! I really think Lorelei James tried to kill me with her naughty, naughty sex in this book. I mean - dirty, let's lube everyone up, and why not bring in rope, a saw horse and a saddle sex.

Although Hank starts a little hesitant in the bedroom don't let that fool you. Both Hank and Kyle are very demanding of Lanie. They treat her wonderfully, but they are both very dominant. I thought the boys rushed into the threesome a little fast. They both knew they couldn't give up Lanie and they both agreed they didn't want any male on male action (darn!). But - there is a certain intimacy when it comes to m/f/m. They are going to see each other naked and doing many intimate things. This is the first threesome for both men. I don't think the issue of them, together with Lanie, full out naked and having sex together was addressed as much as it should have been.

With that being said, Hank and Kyle do become very jealous of the other and make it a competition to see who can win Lanie's heart. That aspect of it seemed real and a natural progression for these competitive men. Besides the sex (and yes there is also a story) we really dive into rodeo politics and what it takes to be on the circuit. I think Lorelei James does a great job with the surrounding story and really making you feel like you are part of the rodeo action. I also loved the ending. It made the story worthwhile to me and actually surprised me very much.

Corralled may just top the charts for it's smuttiness. I will definitely be reading Lorelei James again.

STORY BRIEF:
Lainie is a medical technician who travels the rodeo circuit to treat injuries of contestants. She begins a relationship with Hank, a bullfighter. Later she meets Kyle, a bull rider, and starts seeing him as well. The two men have always been in different locations until one event where all three are together. The guys find out Lainie has been dating the other, and Lainie finds out the guys have been friends since they were kids. Lainie doesn't want to choose between them, so the guys decide to share her at the same time. This has been a secret fantasy of hers, so she agrees. They get a camper, and the three of them travel together for the next three weeks where the guys will be doing the same rodeo circuit. The plan was for threesomes, but several circumstances cause Lainie to be with just one of the guys. So there is some jealousy and fairness attempts to provide "alone time" with the other guy.

Some of the conflicts and side stories include: A lot of time is spent on rodeo events and life on the road for rodeo people. Hank's sister is secretly performing in rodeos. Hank is torn between working on the family ranch vs. rodeo work. Lainie's job is changing. It's becoming obvious that Lainie will need to choose between the men. Lainie is assaulted by someone.

REVIEWER'S OPINION:
This wasn't as good as some of her other cowboy books. I wanted a better story or to be more emotionally drawn to the characters. Part of the story included someone assaulting Lainie which was not developed enough. It was resolved in a believable way, but it wasn't interesting. It had potential. The purpose of the book is hot cowboy sex. But the sex scenes were just ok, not special, not hot enough. Maybe due to lack of emotional pull. I'm not sure why. A few times I wanted it to be over. Sex scenes included two men with one woman and rear door activity.

OTHER BOOKS:
My two favorite Lorelei James books are in the Rough Riders series: "All Jacked Up" and "Cowgirl Up and Ride." I gave 4 stars to both of them. "Corralled" is the first book in the Blacktop Cowboys series.

DATA:
Story length: 339 pages. Swearing language: strong, including religious swear words. Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: 13. Estimated number of sex scene pages: 64. Setting: current day Colorado, Wyoming, and other Western states. Copyright: 2010. Genre: erotic contemporary western romance.

Nope, but I find it so disappointing when publishers do this, I own every copy (legally) of Lorelei's that I can get on a Kindle in Australia but when publishers do this it just makes you want to find other ways to get the books, I don't know who they are trying to protect doing this.
