Book Description

Corrector Yui January 15, 2002
In the year 2020, computers are everywhere. From digital teachers to cars that drive themselves, computers are an integral part of everyone`s lives-- everyone except Yui Kasuga`s. The 14-year-old daydreamer can`t tell a Pentium chip from a Dorito! How ironic that the fate of the internet, and the world, should fall on the sholders of this young girl. When the sentient computer virus, Grosser, infects the global network Com-Net, Yui is transported into cyberspace to combat his evil plans. Only by assembling the eight missing pieces of the corrector program can Yui make the Net safe once more. A dangerous quest, fabulous costumes, a cute sidekick... Yui`s superhero dreams are about to come true where she least expected it!

From the Publisher

Kia Asamiya is the most widely read manga artist in America. A popular creator in his Japan, he's reached superstar status in America- speaking to standing-room-only crowds at anime and comic conventions. His work has been published by all the major American manga publishers (CPM, Dark Horse, TOKYOPOP, Viz), not to mention a full color series of Dark Angel from Image and an upcoming Batman project for DC. Best known for science fiction series like Silent Mobius and Nadesico, he makes his shoujo (girl's manga) debut with Corrector Yui, for which he designed the characters and established the story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Corrector Yui is ok..., September 15, 2002

I was entertained when I read this book, but I think it is a really big take off of Sailor Moon and it's plot is not all that great. But if you need a light read, this is the book for you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Correor Yui, March 5, 2002

This is a great book! It reminds me a lot of Cardcaptor Sakura. If you liked that, then you would love this too! Yui was one of the only people who did not know how to use a computer, funny how she was the one chosen to become a corrector. Her job is to try and protect the Com-net from the evil virus Grosser. Very beatutiful artwork too! I mighly reccomend this book for lovers of shojo manga!

1.0 out of 5 stars TERRIBLE, September 22, 2004

This review is from: Corrector Yui #1 (Paperback)
Quite honestly one of the worst manga I've ever read, the transition into an American manga has either left Corrector Yui a far cry from what it was meant to be, or it never had any potential in the first place. The word balloons are mangled with a terrible, ugly font, and the story is lame. The characters have all the depth of crustaceans, and the entire thing rings of a cheap cardcaptor sakura bootleg, only not as cute or interesting. Yui has no strength as a main character and her supporting cast are all either forgettable or annoying. I say steer clear of this book at all costs.
