About the Author

Lotus Rose is also the author of MachoPoni: A Prance with Death and SinEaster. He writes about young characters in strange situations. At times dark, silly, or bawdy, his writing owes much to such influences as Alice in Wonderland and Roald Dahl, and explores themes like disillusionment, and the corruption of innocence. If his books were movies, they'd likely be directed by Tim Burton. He often writes in a style that is a more edgy, "grown-up" version of children's literature interspersed with his poetry and songs.

Here's a short poem he wrote:

O, shall I be like the lotus,
And bring you dark dreams and soft sighs?
Or shall I be like the rose is,
Sweet-scented and tempting your eyes?

For the unending sleep can seduce you,
To the world behind unseeing eyes.
And the beauty that beckons, then cuts you,
Is also the cruelest of lies.

Lotus Rose writes delightfully weird tales about young characters in strange situations. At times dark, silly, or bawdy, his writing owes much to such influences as Alice in Wonderland and Roald Dahl, Piers Anthony and Douglas Adams, and explores themes like disillusionment, and the corruption of innocence. If his books were movies, they'd likely be directed by Tim Burton. He often writes in a style that is a more edgy, "grown-up" version of children's literature interspersed with his poetry and songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coming of age with a twist, March 27, 2007
This review is from: The Corruption of Innocence (Paperback)
This was the first novel by Lotus Rose that I have had the pleasure of reading. The title is the truely suggests what the novel is about. It goes through various parts of growing up from the first Love, first betryal and becoming haggard from the world. Filled with a morbid beauty of a few slivers of old childhood bedtime stories. A must read!

I got this book on Kindle for a buck. What do you get for a dollar these days?
Nothing as cool as this book! Very well written weave of intertwined stories
about coming of age with a little bizarro and Alice in Wonderland thrown in.
Not the usual stuff I read but I'm glad I took a chance on it. Its never dull,
keeps a good pace and has a great deal of very creative thoughts. I would recommend this book to anyone who doesn't mind a little bit of plot driven erotic action.

3.0 out of 5 stars Extremely unique., September 17, 2008

This review is from: The Corruption of Innocence (Paperback)
Lotus Rose has a very creative mind. I enjoyed quite a bit of parts of this book. Though I would have to say this is not something I would normally read. If you like stories about other stories telling about certain tales containg and triggering childhood to adulthood, it is a must read. This entire novel is very twisted, yet enjoyable and does not contain dull moments.
