By A Customer
This review is from: The Corruptor: The Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Krs-One's "5 Boroughs of Death",Keith Murray's "Slap Somebody",also Mic Vandalz "Feel the Rush" was off the hook.Oliver Wang doesn't know sh*t about hip-hop.Jay-Z's Remix of "Money,Cash,Hoes" was alright, but the other jams tore it up.Jigga's the man,but don't front on Krs-One and them other MC's,alright,Wang.

The soundtrack has it's moments and downfalls,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Corruptor: The Soundtrack (Audio CD)
As with a lot of soundtracks, the music has nothing to do with or doesn't even follow along the lines of the film. With this in mind, the sounds on this LP may confuse some. There are bangers on the soundtrack, such as KRS-One's "5 Boroughs", Jane Blaze, Mobb Deep's "Allustrious", Kasino and The LOX's "Men of Respect" and others. But there are artists on here that take away from the soundtrack like Spice 1's highly disappointing song and a biting, wanna be DMX sound-a-like named Truck Turner. This is am aiight hip hop soundtrack. A good purchase but don't let it's downfalls frustrate you.

Solid Album,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Corruptor: The Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Ok.. So its not a ground-breaking hip-hop album and it is a bit commercial.. but its a solid album if you like hip-hop... The reviewer for Amazon.com above obviously had no interest when reviewing this album and it shows in his assessment. And where did that track listing come from?? I have 17 tracks on my CD.. err?? There are some fab songs on here and though they aren't terribly new they hold their own weight. Some of the better tracks are Jay-Z's remix, Kasino's 'Men of Respect,' and 'The Corruptor's Execution.' If you like hip-hop then this is not a bad buy especially for a soundtrack.

Half The Songs Aren't On There!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Corruptor: The Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I dont know, but I went and saw this film and about half the songs that I thought "Wow, I wanna get this soundtrack" aren't even on there! Third Eye Blind's "Losing a Whole Year" is one that comes to mind, and the less desirable ones like Brittany Spears "Baby One More Time" and Monifa's "Touch It" aren't even on it. It's pretty bad when the soundtrack to the movie isn't a soundtrack, it's just one genre. Ah well, it coulda been good, but it wasn't.

Good CD, will not play when kids are in the car. Explicit lyrics, but all in all pretty good, if you like this genre of music!

Men of Respect,

You know I wasn`t a huge fan of this soundtrack back in the day, but it has some great tunes. "Men of Respect" by Kasino and LOX is incredible, you get the "More Money, More Cash, More Hoes" remix featuring Memph Bleek and Beanie as well. Truck Turner destroys his tune, along with KRS-One's "5 Boroughs" which brings an all-star cast of mc's.

Great movie, great soundtrack,

I was always a fan of the movie The Corruptor. The intriguing tale of crooked cops in New York City kept me watching from beginning to end. The soundtrack is just as good as the movie even though it has some minor flaws. Standout Tracks:MORE MONEY MORE CASH MORE HOES, THE CORRUPTOR'S EXECUTION(dope cover of the Above The Law classic), 5 BOROUGHS(This song is a classic), TAKE IT OFF, SLOW DOWN(whatever happened to Jane Blaze), I AINT PLAYING, HAVE YOU HEARD OF ME(nice concept), MEN OF RESPECT(classic Lox featuring Kasino plus Jada's verse was fire!), BE MY DIRTY LOVE, FEEL THE RUSH and REMINISCE. Filler: I Got You Faded With Night & Day is an awful love jam plus the lead singer is a Christopher Williams clone, and Slap Somebody by Keith Murray is so wack it needs no explanation. Bottom Line: The Corruptor soundtrack is as good as the movie. The guest appearances were memorable and the production was grand. It's worth checking out regardless of what some sissy Jin fan(Oliver Wang)thinks.

What's that you say about KRS 1???,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Corruptor: The Soundtrack (Audio CD)
First off, I must say that much of the music on the cd is mainstream (usually heard with a video on MTV or BET ) but you really can't say much about KRS1. That song was done with out writing a word on paper. That song is an original- taken from a wake-up show out of New York. Why didn't you mention Buck Shot from the BCC???? Or Mad Lion??? Why did you lay it on with KRS1? Just stick to what you know- and it's more than obvious that it isn't music.

Worth Getting if...,

This cd is only worth buying if you like rap and if its $14.99 or less. It only has a few good songs, but the "Money Cash Hoes" remix makes up for it. I'd reccomend it.
