I had originally thought I had ordered the wrong kit since the item description mentions SSD drive. Which I do not have at this point in time. I'll wait for the prices to eventually come down on those before I take the plunge. Apparently the new SSD drives must use a standard SATA connection? Not sure I have never seen one as of yet.

The kit fit my SATA drive with no issues, I was also quite pleased to see that they supplied an additional USB cable to power the drive. A plus in my book as I once did a drive transfer and the single USB cable did not supply enough power.

The manual does lack slightly in the fact that it makes no mention of what to do with the tiny screws included and the adhesive foam. I am guessing that perhaps there is some way to seal up the enclosure so you can use your old HD as an external. I'll look the case over better after the transfer is complete to see if I can figure out where the screws might go. Minor details since I really don't have any intentions of using it as a portable storage solution.

The included Acronis software was straightforward and easy to use. Since I didn't bother to trim down the robust Vista installation I transferred over to the new drive it did take some time to make it happen, but that was to be expected.

Bottom line, if you need a down and dirty transfer mechanism to upgrade your laptop's SATA HD to either a standard or SSD, this will do the job for under $20 and you can't beat it.

There is no description of the interface and Corsair does not show the item on their website. I have no idea if it works because it doesn't fit anything I have. I did get a bootable image disk and a usb cable. I guess it is not a total loss.
