Worked Fine,

This review is from: Corsair 4GB Dual Channel Corsair DDR3 Memory for Intel Core i5 Processors (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) (Personal Computers)
Fairly easy installation. Just open up your computer and pop them into the RAM slots. The covering helps to prevent damage from static shock. When I booted up my computer, the RAM was recognized immediately. I haven't run any tests, so I don't know the exact performance increase. Even though the title says "Core i5" the memory runs fine with my AMD Phenom II X4 965 and ASUS M4A77TD motherboard.
*Note: I ordered this from Amazon and the product arrived five days after the expected delivery date. This was expected, though, since I ordered the product with free shipping and I ordered it right before Christmas eve. Just be wary that the expected delivery date does not reflect delays caused by holiday rushes.

Great RAM for the money - just make sure to go into your motherboard BIOS to set it at 1600..some don't do this by default.

Running these in an i5, Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3 machine (dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10) for about a month and haven't had any issues so far. If I ever end up needing more memory I would buy them again.

Not for Overclockers!,

I ordered this through Amazon with 2 day shipping and it showed up the next week. I use this RAM in conjunction with an ASUS CHIV mobo, AMD PII 1090T Thuban, a BFG Nvidia 9800 GTX+ OC, 32 gb high speed ssd and a 500gb 6gbs pair of data drives raided together.
This ram is ok, it works fine as long as I leave it at stock. It refuses to overclock or underclock for the world though. I have never seen a stick of RAM I couldn't slow down. If you're an every day user this stuff works great, go for it. If you want to play with the system and overclock, STAY AWAY.

I used this with the ASUS Crosshair IV using a AMD Phenom II X6 1090T processor and although the packaging says Intel it works great with my setup. I just think it's a way to persuade people to use Intel processors but not me sorry!

Ram works fine with i3-540, even it says for i5.
I easily overclocked it to 1820MHZ(maybe higher, but it is enough to me) and finish the torture test, however, the voltage had to be set to 1.66v (no rated 1.65v option on my MB), otherwise, it will cause BSOD. Another thing, this ram is not low voltage one like the recommended RAM voltage for i3-540: around 1.5v, it actually is not for i3 and i5 etc. Well, nobody cares Intel's recommendation though. Also the voltage for i3 needs to be increased too, so that the difference between I3 and ram is less than 0.4v, otherwise it may damage the processor.

I purchased 4GB of this RAM for my Core i5-750 build using a Gigabyte P55M-UD2 motherboard. RAM worked as advertised, no issues. Scored a 7.6 on the "windows experience index for Memory", running Windows 7 x64.

Produces Errors,
This review is from: Corsair 4GB Dual Channel Corsair DDR3 Memory for Intel Core i5 Processors (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9) (Personal Computers)
I would be careful with these. I have had three sets now that have produced errors on Intel boards. I believe it is due to the heat spreaders not dispersing heat properly. The errors are subtle and require a lot of work to reproduce with analysis software, but they are there. This has caused me trouble with my clients, and I just can't use or recommend this particular series from Corsair.

I bought this memory as part of a new build I was doing -- my first purchase of Corsair ram. In the past I've had good luck with Kingston, but what the heck, Amazon sells a lot of Corsair, so why not? Sure there are many tales of woe from victims of faulty Corsair ram, but it couldn't happen to me. The first sign that something might be wrong was the continual crashing of Win 7, 64 bit, during installation. I pulled one stick of Corsair, and Windows installed like a champ! Then the crashing on a cold start began. Must be the voltage, maybe the timing, a bad slot, faulty motherboard, defective cpu -- so many possibilities. Well after a couple of days of screwing around, trying this and doing that, and more than a dozen crashes later, I was forced to admit that Denial was not a river in Egypt. One stick was cr*p!! Fortunately Amazon is very good about taking back defective merchandise, but that isn't going to erase all the feelings of frustration when yet another BSOD popped up, or get me back the wasted hours getting this computer working properly. Aarrghhh!
Update: The replacement Kingston ram has arrived and works flawlessly. Cheaper, too.
