Just received this and quite impressed compared to previous USB2.0 drives I have owned. The case is made from a grippy, rubbery material that seems very durable. Most flash drives are quite rugged, but the main cause of failure is the case splitting in half where it snapped together, which can't happen with this guy.

CrystalDiskMark shows sequential read at 80 MB/s and sequential write at 20 MB/s over USB 3.0 (see my product image). These speeds were confirmed during file transfers. Speeds over USB 2.0 were 35 MB/s read and 20 MB/s write, still much faster than most USB2 flash drives.

I don't know what the previous reviewers were doing (none of those reviews are very specific anyways), but this is a very speedy drive.

It's great at first, but after a few months, it will just stop working. I have had two of these. Same problem with both. It's a hassle. You not only loose your data, but it's not there when you need it. There seems to be several user reviews complaining about this very same thing. Too bad because it's nice and feel substantial. But don't bother buying it.

I have used Corsair USB flash drives in the past and have been very pleased with their durability and reliability. I chose the 32 GB USB 3.0 due to its fast read and write speeds which are advertised as a maximum sequential read speed of 80 MB/s and a write speed of 40 MB/ s. The write speed is faster than the less expensive Corsair 16GB Flash Voyager USB 3.0 Flash Drive CMFVY3S-16GB version and the faster write speed is a good reason to choose the 32 GB USB 3.0 drive instead of the 16 GB version.

Note that there are two 32 GB USB 3.0 drives available. This model (CMFVY3S-32GB) is smaller than the slightly less expensive Corsair 32GB Flash Voyager USB 3.0 Flash Drive CMFVY3-32GB and in my opinion, the CMFVY3S-32GB a much better buy due to the reduced size.

The drive appears durable with a detachable, rubber cap over the connectors and rubber molding over the body of the memory stick. The rubber molding allows for a firm grip on the drive and gives the impression that the drive is very durable. However, the width of the flash drive makes it difficult to plug in other USB devices next to or above the drive in side-to-side USB plugs and this is something to be aware of. Another negative is that the flash drive does not come with a lanyard. I would think that this would be a simple addition by Corsair.

The USB flash drive comes with a limited 5 year warranty. This was disappointing since the USB 2.0 drives come with a 10 year warranty. I own several Corsair USB flash drives and overall, they perform well. However, I purchased a 16 GB USB 3.

Was great while it worked... but that didn't last long. I think I used it maybe 5 times... sat in a desk drawer otherwise. The USB plug itself got ever so slightly warped (i think just from its own weight when plugged in) and just stopped working. I found bending it back got it working again for another hour... but then it wiped all of the data out. Everyone is right about the rubber case... its useless (presumably meant to offer impact protection). I've had another plastic thumb drive for 5+ years which has been through a lot and works great. But the corsair quit without reason.

I think a rigid plastic drive prevents warping... but the rubber case does nothing in this regard.

I sent it back to Corsair who is sending me another...

It worked very well for the first few times I used it, but it is now toast and only a few months old.

It "looks" like it's built to withstand shocks with its impressive looking rubber case but I think it's more for show because as others have said it easily flexes which I assume has killed it.

I would not ordinarily give a 1 star for a failure without going through the rma process first, but since reading the other reviews with people having the same issue, I've decided to chuck it and get another brand, which is a shame because I've been liking Corsair as of late...

I should have read the freakin reviews for this flash stick. This product is defective and will die after a couple of months. I bet I didn't use it 10 times and I missed the deadline to return it. I'm kinda shocked that Amazon even sells products like these with half the reviews saying it's defective.

I purchased a 16G Voyager locally last year... While I liked the fact it was fast 3.0, comfortable to use, and works with a lanyard, I did lose the rubber connector cover not long after purchase - one of it's weaknesses. Also, while the drive's PCB is covered with the hard rubber skin, it does flex during insertion; in my case, it apparently flexed enough over time where the connector worked its way loose from the PCB, making the drive unusable. However, being relatively inexpensive, I just purchased another from Amazon, hoping some improvements to the design may have been made...
