Product Description

Capacity: 64 GB

Go beyond ordinary USB 3.0 speed

Standard USB 3.0 flash drives are fast. Flash Voyager GT USB 3.0 is even faster, with data transfer rates of up to two times the speed of standard USB 3.0 drives, and up to eight times the speed of USB 2.0 drives. The portability and convenience of USB drives has always meant putting up with delays while waiting for files to copy, but now they're a thing of the past.

High-speed data transfer even over USB 2.0

Chances are that you’re still using at least one PC that hasn’t yet been upgraded to USB 3.0. Flash Voyager GT has you covered: not only is it fully compatible with USB 2.0, it’s also one of the fastest USB 2.0 flash drives on the market. Data transfer across multiple PCs is both fast and worry-free.

And even if you haven’t moved to USB 3.0 on your primary system, Flash Voyager GT USB 3.0 is still a great investment. You’ll enjoy screaming-fast data transfer rates that push the limits of USB 2.0 performance, and unlock a new speed achievement with your next upgrade.

Durable and shock-resistant

The finger-friendly ergonomics of the Flash Voyager GT USB 3.0 will make you want to take it with you everywhere, so reliability is essential. Corsair's proprietary all-rubber housing is extremely durable, for worry-free transport of your valuable data. And because accidents happen, Flash Voyager GT USB 3.0 is water-resistant. Unlike traditional storage media, flash drives are solid-state, so they can easily handle the everyday — and not so everyday — drops and bumps that come with the territory.

Convenient and compatible

It works with Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and even Linux without drivers, and there's no software to install — just plug it in, and go. If your computer has a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 connector, you can use Flash Voyager GT USB 3.0.

Backed by Corsair

With a long history of building enthusiast-grade memory products and components, Corsair has built a reputation for quality, compatibility, and performance. If you ever need help, we’re available by phone call, email, or web forum.

I own several different types of small portable flash drives and I wanted to upgrade to something with USB 3.0 for better performance. I decided to use three different USB drives for a simple test on two different PCs. The PC's difference that really matters here is that one is native USB 2.0 on the board and the other is USB 3.0. The Flash drive devices I used were:
-My old personal favorite the 2GB PNY Attachè USB 2.0 Flash Drive
-A new 64GB Lexar USB 3.0 Flash Drive
-This 32GB Corsair Flash Voyager GT ruggedized USB 3.0 Flash Drive

Size comparison: (you know size does matter)
Smallest and most convenient to use is definitely the Lexar with its retractable USB connector. The PNY is old and has a very slim and standard solid body but is almost twice as long as the Lexar. Then, like an 800lbs. gorilla, this Corsair drive comes in with a suite of rubber armor including the helmet. It is nearly 3 times the size of the Lexar but if you want something that you can give to your toddler and expect to get back even hours of abuse later, this is it.

Now on to the performance specs as this is probably why you are taking you time to read this and why I wanted to write it. I did the same 1GB size test with each USB drive on both of the PCs. I used CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1 which is a freeware portable app to gauge disk performance in Read/Write times. Don't worry, I will explain my take on the results at the end but everyone is entitled to their own opinions based on the data. I also ran it against my local C: drive to get a better perspective of what the numbers mean:

********************The following three results are on the USB 2.

Using this with a 2010 Mac Pro and a Caldigit USB 3.0 PCI Express card.

Using AJA System Test and testing a 1.0 GB file, the speeds I am getting are

Write: 97.6 MB/S
Read: 135.3 MB/S

Using a 4.0 GB file size:

Write: 124.2 MB/S
Read: 133.0 MB/S

Very fast and so much storage space. Very glad I bought this Flash Drive.

As others have noted, this flash drive does an excellent job in large file read/writes. I have the 64GB model, based on the cost / performance metrics, and it lives up to the advertised speeds give or take. I/O, however, can be a little rough, largely I suspect from the nature of USB rather than the internals of the chip. I'm actually writing this review now on a Ubuntu 12.04 installed on the flash drive, and (as one would expect) it lacks the multitasking abilities of a proper SSD - though you certainly can't beat it for portability.

One thing to note, this flash drive is HUGE by comparison with other drives. In the manner of some fictional barbarian tribe, it looks like it ate several Voyager sticks to gain their power. I'd say it's a good 75% longer and 50% more rotund than other Voyager drives I've owned. This drive will not fit comfortably if there's anything remotely near the USB port (like the lip of some laptop case), and you can forget about using another USB device if your USB ports are close together. Other flash drives I've had in the past, that have a similar issue with rotund-ness, have come with a little USB extension cable to get around this problem, but the Corsair drive did not, so there's your one star off of the product. Otherwise the best USB stick I've ever owned, and the 5 year warranty gives me some piece of mind (though, conveniently, down from the 10 years on my last Corsair product...)

Worked perfectly. It works perfectly for all my needs. The only issue that I have (why I only gave it 4 stars) Is the rubber case makes it bulky. I can't plug in more then one thing into my Macbook Pro. But I was able to solve the problem. The rubber case slides off, leaving a slim black case.

I received the Corsair 128GB 3.0 flash drive the other day. It comes formatted as FAT32. I reformatted it into exFAT. This format is fully compatible with Microsoft PCs and Apple MacBooks, at least those running more recent versions of their respective operating systems. The other advantage of exFAT is there is no single file copy size limit like there is with FAT32. You can always go back to the FAT32 format if you have issues with operating system capatibility. Anyway enough on that.

The Corsair drive is fantastic. The drive was instantly recognized by my Dell running Windows 7. The reformatting to exFAT took only a couple of seconds. I then copied several files from my PC to the Corsair. IT WAS SO FAST! I don't know how to measure the write speeds of the Corsair but it was instantaneous! The size of this drive and using a fast USB 3.0, which is backward compatible to older USB ports, makes this the drive to have IMHO. It also looks great. The exterior is fully rubberized and feels great. The end cap is not connected so it could get lost but I'm pretty good about not doing that and it does fit fairly snug. Unlike some reviews stating there is no light, the drive does a blue light when you are writing/reading from the drive but that light is not on when the Corsair is dormant. It also has a five year warranty. If you are looking for a drive that is fast and has the room to store a lot of stuff, this is it. Buy it, you won't regret it!
