It worth all the money,

The fastest SSD on the market at this time. It doubles the performance of my computer. I did upgrade from my old ADATA 596 64GB SSD (write speed 110mb, read speed 230mb) and feel the difference.

Replaced my iMac's stock drive with the Corsair. Their tech support is essentially "send it in and we'll replace it" even though there is nothing wrong with the drive - I just needed some help with why OSX would not install. I ended up figuring it out myself but their OSX support is basically non-existant. I don't have any experience with this drive in a Windows based system but it would have to be better than what I experienced on my Apple iMac.I also purchased another SSD from Intel. That is fully supported and worked as expected out of the box with OSX. I think I'll stick with Intel for future drives.

The random write performance on these SSD's is legit. I just hope that they can keep up with the write activity we're throwing at them. I didn't care much about sequential I/O performance, so haven't even checked them yet.

So I am a fledgling movie geek using CS4 and I was looking to speed up my system. So after a lot of research I decided to switch to SSD for my programs, and use my velociraptors for he scratch in Raid 3. So I am not sure if anyone has actually looked at you tube at how much faster these SSD's boot than normal hard drives, it is no comparison. SSD wins hands down, and oh did I mention that programs start instantaneously using this?So its still to expensive to use this technology for storage in my case, but if you want better performance and speed out of our boot up and programs you have to switch to SSD. This SSD makes 0 sound and is fast, fast, fast, and oh did I mention this is a good deal on price to!! Hope this helps. |
