The sound will astound.

The large 50mm drivers deliver detailed audio that envelops you in its realism. Voices are crisp, effects sound the way the audio designer intended, and with its tight bass response, Vengeance 2100 lets you experience deep, satisfying lows without overload or distortion.

Give as good as you get.

The unidirectional, noise-cancelling microphone ensures that your words will be heard. Whether you’re calling out DPS targets or just chatting between matches, your voice remains loud and clear. Flip the adjustable, rotating boom out of the way when you don’t need it, and flip it back into place when you’re ready for action.

Play for hours.

The H2100 has been designed from the ground up for maximum comfort and durability. Microfiber-covered memory foam earpads and the padded headband help keep it in place, while the 10-hour battery capacity means you can play from sundown to sunrise – and if you want to go even longer, just attach the USB charge cable and keep playing.

Grab it and go.

The thick, padded headband helps the H2100 stay on your head securely and comfortably, and the soft-touch materials make it easier to carry when you're taking it with you.

First off, the product is very good. The construction seems stout and the microfiber and memory foam are very comfortable. The virtual 7.1 effectively communicates 3D sound and the large drivers make for a great experience for those who just enjoy music and youtube. For gaming, the 3D experience is night-and-day better, especially for FPS games. My only knock would be that the default settings are not very good and the software, while it is very easy to adjust audio settings, provides no way to actually test the settings as you play with them. Some 5.1 and 7.1 music or FX samples to play while you tinker with the settings would be helpful. My test game was Crysis 3 and the main characters voice sounds very distant and small with default settings. It wouldn't be a big deal if you could play with the tuner bars while the game is open but instead you have to play wack-a-mole and guess which bar needs to be moved.

Bonus points for Amazon: The price dropped $20 bucks a few days after the purchase and customer service was happy to refund me the $20 bucks. That fifth star is for you, Amazon.

Style Name: 1500 v2 - USB Dolby 7.1
I recently decided to splurge on a headset and get one that costs more than 30 bucks. I went with the logitech G430 and ended up returning them within days because the sound quality was terrible and the 7.1 was nothing more than a poorly tuned reverb. After returning those I decided to spend a bit more and go with these, and I have to say I am very satisfied. My test game was Crysis 2, the G430s would distort slightly at loud bangs and I could not identify locations by sound, these sounded crystal clear and shots coming from behind me sounded like they were behind me. Even in games like Guild Wars 2 where 5.1 is supported im still able to tell when something is behind me (VERY useful for PVP). People on skype tell me I sound like im not even using a mic which I imagine means no static or distortion. They dont hug your head too much and feel just right, and while they are itchy the first few times you wear them, it eventually goes away and they become very comfortable (im guessing there is some kind of coating on the material). Bass is bassy and you can feel the headphones shake when lows hit, sounds are clear but still not as good as a quality sound card and good speakers but then again this is for gaming and not music/movies. Also the volume is ear shattering at max volume so be careful (You can flip the earmuffs upward and use them like speakers).

In short...

For gaming: It will give you a competitive edge thanks to clear sound and 7.1/5.1 surround and teammates will not complain of mic quality

For movies/music: It will do but there are far better choices out there for audiophiles

For VOIP/Streaming: They are great, and comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.

I picked the 2100 up from my local Microcenter to test against the only other set I have at the office, a set of Monster Inspiration w/ noise cancelling, plus the built-in powered amp.

Sound:

These are very bright in the mid to upper mids and you will notice those frequencies stand out noticeably on music. The 50mm drivers show good range on the low end and, depending on your taste, some might consider the bass decently powerful on tracks that have it. In some cases, the high frequencies (high hat) might feel a bit too bright. Some might like this 'crisp' sensation. I do.

If I were to attempt to portray what the spectrum feels like to me, it might look something like this:

--------------------------------------------- -
----------------------------- - - -------- - --
------------------ - - - - - ------- - - - ----
- - - - - - - - - -----------------------------
-----------------------------------------------

You can always trim the brightness and enhance the bass via an EQ utility, though to be honest, after tinkering around a bit, I decided they sounded best without any EQ tinkering.

The Inspiration are not as bright, which had me feeling occasionally that the sound spectrum of the 2100 was more detailed and full sounding. The 2100 also has a more spacious sound, which I prefer, while the Inspiration soundstage feels more confined.

The Inspiration might be a bit more balanced across the frequency range, especially in the upper ranges, with clear mids and highs -- they don't pop out like on the 2100s, which is either a good or bad thing, depending on your taste.

I have tried all three of the Corsair Vengeance models and I have to say for the money I feel that you get more out of the 2100 model. However if you prefer wired the 1500 model has nearly identical features. As for the 1400, at the moment, there is no real reason to consider that one over the 1500 or the 2100 (see details below).

Corsair Vengeance 2100 Wireless Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset (V2100)

This Corsair has to be one of my favorite gaming headsets of all time. The microphone quality is quite amazing on these, crystal clear audio, plus it seems to not pickup people talking in the background which is always nice.

The battery life is also really nice, it lasts me about 2-3 gaming sessions per charge so ~10 hours.

The 7.1 surround sound it also really nice for survival games. It allows you to have such an advantage in games by not only being able to hear vehicles and footsteps from afar, but also to locate what direction they are coming from. Quite invaluable when playing games like DayZ or Rust.(Note: Amplifies the effect of Amnesia *shudders*)

Lastly, the most important thing a gaming headset needs, comfortability! These are super comfy, they don't squeeze my head like a lot of the other ones do.

Corsair Vengeance 1500 USB Dolby 7.1 Gaming Headset (1500 v2)

The microphone and the speakers on the Vengeance 1500 seems to be the same as the 2100, so A+ here.

The design is a bit different from the 2100 to the 1500. I prefer the design of the 2100 as it has all the controls at more convenient locations.

Overall, very solid headset though if you want the extra mobility you won't regret going for the 2100!
