5.0 out of 5 stars Completely satisfied
Got this pair for my Dell Dimension 4600 desktop. It's working just fine - no conflicts, no crashes. I think they're very reasonably priced for something that is offered by Amazon.com and not some obscure 3rd party seller. I picked the gratis SuperSaver shipping and received them the very next day. Plus $0% sales tax. Adds up to a pretty unbeatable deal.

1.0 out of 5 stars DOA
One SIMM DOA. I had to send it back RMA to Corsair, on my dime, and then it's like 3 weeks to get new.

Good value for money. Ran Memtest86 on these sticks for several passes, zero errors, straight out of the box.

Removing my old mix-n-match RAM and installing these two sticks has breathed a bit of extra life into my old P4, bringing it back up to speed for all everyday tasks.

Recommended for the price if you want to just give a slightly aging system a bit of a boost.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worked as Advertised, May 21, 2008
This review is from: Corsair Memory VS2GBKIT400C3 2 GB PC3200 400MHz 184-Pin DDR Desktop Memory Kit (Personal Computers)
I installed this memory and it worked flawlessly. My computer is more responsive and the applications that required more memory work great. The price was affordable and the product met all my expectations.

I installed this memory in my Dell Dimension 3000. The memory went from 256MB to 2GB! My computer now boots up and shuts down MUCH faster and doesn't freeze up when multiple tabs are open. The entire process was easier than I thought---I looked up my users manual on the Dell website and printed out the pages showing you how to replace the memory. The manual stated that placing identical memory cards in BOTH slots would be optimal. Amazon offered a pretty good deal on this 2 GB kit. I turned my computer on its side, removed the cover, took out the old card, and installed the new memory as directed. Opening up my computer also made me aware of the amount of dust collected in it (especially the fan vents and inside the front panel). Wow! After a through cleaning, it's running quieter. This low cost upgrade will make it possible for me to keep my current computer much longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works Great!, April 12, 2009

I installed this memory about a month ago.

I got it in the mail, and had this memory installed in less than ten minutes. My computer is almost four years old, and it recognized the new memory with no problems. I now have 2.5 gigs of memory. I've noticed a nice boost in performance. Nothing miraculous, but nice. The machine doesn't slow down as much as it did before, when more than one program is running, and my browsers are snappier. And that is the whole point of adding extra memory!

I don't know what else to say. The memory installs easily;disconnect the power cord, slip the side off the computer, flip the end clips up, take out the old sticks, snap the new sticks into the slots in matched pairs, flip down the end clips, close her back up, and reconnect the power cord.

[...]And yeah I know I've got a lot of 5 star reviews, but hey, if I can't find anything to ding a product for, I won't.

As long as things meet my expectations, and they work, I'm fairly easy to please, LOL.

And I have no connections with any company, or product, other than I purchased the product, just in case you're wondering:)

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, even overclocks around extra 10mhz, December 23, 2011

Had this put into an old AMD Athlon 64 overclocked system. Works as expected and even overclocked almost to 10mhz extra. Don't be fooled by the non heat spreaders, these do perform well. Heat spreaders have also only been shown to provide average of extra 5% overclock over non heat spreaders. Decent price considering the market for these, got em at 80.

5.0 out of 5 stars WHAT A BOOST!!, December 20, 2011

This ram brought my old Dell Dimension 2400 up to it's maximum allowed RAM.
There seems to be a lot of disagreement out there about what the 2400 can handle, but for my machine, these chips fell right in and began working as if my machine came with them originally. (I bought the faster rated chips because of other upgrades I was about to make.)

Of course I noticed some improvement in speed etc, but I had already been running with 1GB of slower RAM so I didn't expect much of a change.

HOWEVER! After adding a new Pentium 4 CPU running at 3.06ghz, I noticed a HUGE improvement. I also added a new Monitor, "ASUS ML228H 22-Inch Ultra-Slim Widescreen LED Monitor," and with all that, my old Dell is amazing. I'm not a gamer, so playing the newest games isn't important to me, but video is. After all these changes, at the very least, I'm getting a rock-steady 30 fps at YouTube and Hulu. Smooth perfect video from this fossil machine is a sight to behold.

In addition, I installed a; "Sparkle GeForce 8400GS 512 MB DDR3 PCI with Native HDMI Graphics Card SFPC84GS512U2LP." This GPU is amazing, it fits in my low-profile tower, works with the 2400s PCI slot, and makes a perfect upgrade for machines that are not "PCI Express ready." It also provides a DVI and HDMI connection which boggles the eye with my new LCD Monitor.

Needless to say, adding all this capability, has increased the demands on my system, which was one of my main reasons for increasing my available RAM. The Invidia card can also share available RAM, which makes it more important still.

I highly recommend these chips to anybody upgrading an old Dell 2400, or similar "old tech" machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money to upgrade old PC, November 20, 2010

I purchased these to give my 6yrs old PC a little boost and they worked like a charm. They were easy to install and the leap in performance was amazing.
I was able to play new video games without a problem.
They may seem pricey but buying a matched set is always better than buying one board of equivalent memory (for DDR). The bottleneck is usually the bus speed. Having two memory boards will allow the memory controller to use two buses instead of one bus for one memory board.
The quality so far has been great and they are still running.

5.0 out of 5 stars Corsair Memory, September 7, 2009
This review is from: Corsair Memory VS2GBKIT400C3 2 GB PC3200 400MHz 184-Pin DDR Desktop Memory Kit (Personal Computers)
Good price and service. That says it all. Also, when adding memory Corsair likes it's own in my experience. Installed without a hitch. The BIOS recognized the addition and all went well. Tried to upgrade the existing Corsair memory with a different brand and promptly had rounds with the blue screen of death. IF you have Corsair, stick with it. There may be others that work well or give more for performance minded users, but this is working just fine for me.
