Product Description

From the Manufacturer

The advanced design of the SP120 provides the higher static pressure that radiators and heatsinks demand, while maintaining a quiet noise profile. Seven ultra-wide, custom-molded blades deliver high static pressure, and the customized fan enclosure helps airflow move in the right direction. The rubber mounts and the advanced hydraulic bearing system combine high reliability with low-noise operation. Three included colored rings allow you to customize the look of the fan to match the rest of your hardware.

The wide body, low-pitch blades are custom-molded for high static pressure air delivery with low noise, while rubber corners reduce vibration and noise.

An excellent, quiet choice for heatsinks and radiators

The wide body, low-pitch blades of the SP120 fans combined with the custom housing provides outstanding static pressure and airflow through heatsinks or radiators. With rubberized corners, a quiet and reliable Advanced Hydraulic Bearing, and PWM support for increased fan speed control, the SP120 truly is the strong, silent type.

Included in the box are the three user-replaceable colored rings, in red, blue, and white, so you can customize your fan to match your case’s components. Each fan also features blacked-out wires and connectors, so your build looks elegant and clean when done. Available in single and twin packs.

Great fans and very quiet.
Kent Sapp
The rubber corners seem a little janky when you're tightening screws, but hold tightly enough.
J. Cordell
Very quiet, pushes enough air with out sounding like a jet engine.

These fans were used in a HTPC that previously resided in the basement (cables through wall to TV) and now resides in the Living Room next to the TV. I was looking for PWM fans that were near silent. These fit that bill. They do not move much air compared to many other fans I have, but these generally make quite a bit less noise mostly due to them spinning much slower.

As a single case fan, not nearly enough air flow. I have two of these in the top of my case blowing in/down bringing fresh air to the CPU, RAM, and voltage regulators. I didn't think as exhaust fans they had enough airflow to overcome my rear exhaust fan and preferred to bring fresh air directly over the heat generators to exhaust out the back. These are PWM, but I have one of them running on full power since they are that quiet and really don't move much air (as a case fan) at lower RPMs. These probably aren't really the greatest as a case fan and would be much better as a CPU fan probably...that is actually what I think the vendor specs say anyways.

Before I mounted the fans in my case, I ran the mounting screw through the mount a couple of times. I wanted to better be able to monitor how tight they were and how much they were twisting the mounts around.

Other fans compared against at the same time:

ARCTIC F12 PWM
- moves more air at similar RPM
- slightly more noise but mostly related to higher RPM
- has built-in PWM piggy-back cables
- not nearly as fancy of a mount

Cooler Master JetFlo 120
- moves more air at similar RPM
- moves a LOT more air at much higher RPM
- makes more noise at similar RPM
- similar rubber isolated mounts

I got these fans to replace the stock fans on my Corsair H100i. These were much quieter, and even though they run at lower RPMs seem to keep the CPU cooler than the stock fans.

There may be some quieter and some more powerful fans on the market, but this was a nice balance. There is an extremely slight grinding noise while the fans spin but I can't even notice it unless I'm within several inches of the fans.

I don't notice them over any of my other case fans and my CPU stays cool, so I'm content with this product.

These are the quietest fans I've ever heard. I've built at least a dozen systems from scratch through the years, and have used many fans in them (ranging from 60mm up through 120mm) and this is the first one that has actually lived up to its hype. I did many many hours of research and comparison before selecting this model and I have no regrets with this purchase.

I'm using one of the pair as a CPU cooler heatsink fan and the other as a case fan that has some obstruction from the hard drive cages, so appropriate for the SP "Static Pressure" models more than the AF "Air Flow" models. If I'm more than a foot away the thing is totally silent compared to the noise floor (the ambient sounds in the room). If it wasn't for the power LED, I wouldn't be able to tell my computer is on! But they really move decent air and the CPU stays a consistent low temperature even during heavy usage.

I wasn't a big FAN of all of this static pressure hocus pocus, i mean to me it was always about CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) I have some silenx fans which can do 100 CFM at 18 dB, which is super quiet.

However, my silenx fans cannot do what these are doing now.

I have 4 of these on the side door of my corsair 600T case, and they alone are able to force so much air though the case regardless of the internal pressre already generated that my HDD do not exceed 90F even when my room is 80F!

To give a comparison it is 74F in my office right now and the laptop HDD im using is reading 105F which is normal for an enclosed HDD with normal small airflow, thats how the static pressure helps, thats the diff.

Overall im impressed, their noise level is lower than expected when hearing it and they are very well built, easy to mount and you cant argue with the results.

I coupled this twin pack to a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO on an i7 4930k. At 800rpm, it's idling around 26 degrees C, and the highest I've managed to get the temps with Prime95 was around the mid 50's.

They are exactly as quiet as promised. This replaced a Zalman Reserator 3 MAX, which had my temps at 30c idle and 60c load; in addition, the pump noise on the cooler rattled noticeably, and the stock fan (which can't be changed) would drown out my air conditioner when it cranked into high gear.

They don't move as much air as the performance edition, but unless you're seriously overclocking they shouldn't need to. My new setup was quieter and more efficient than a closed-loop cooler. It might not be as shiny, but it's definitely better. When I record audio, my background noise from the tower is effectively nil.

Totally worth it.

I replaced two Cooler Master Excalibur on my Corsair H100 radiator with two of these Corsair SP120 PWM fans. What a difference! I immediately saw a drop in temps with zero noise and at half the RPMs of my older fans. As another reviewer said, the whole "static pressure" thing is a big deal, these fans are made to push air through a radiator (or case grill, etc) and do make a big difference.

I'm using the FanExpert PWM profiles from my ASUS motherboard to modulate the speed, so I cannot comment on compatibility with the H100 fan controller. At 20% PWM, the fans idle at ~420 RPM, my CPU is at 24C (ambient temp is 21C) and there is absolutely zero fan noise. At 100% PWM, the fans run at ~1370 RPM, with a very slight hum if you pay close attention, not something you would notice if you are playing a game for example.

In my testing, there is almost no difference (less than 1-2C) in temps between 50% PWM and 100% PWM under load. So for H100 applications, if you value silence, you do not need to go to the Performance Edition of this fan IMO, this Quiet Edition is more than sufficient. The extra RPM will not have much of an effect.

And as for the other reviewer that said that these fans are "pretty loud when they ramp up to the full 2300+ RPM", he is mistaken because these fans do not go above ~1450 RPM, he must be referring to the "Performance Edition" of these fans.

I'm now a believer in these high static pressure fans. I just wish they made some 140mm with PWM for use in my case. Common Corsair!
