It's sweet and slightly tart and a nice, unusual flavor.

I also use their rosewater and orange blossom water and will use no other brand if I have a choice because of the intensity of flavor.

I purchase mine locally, so this review is going to focus on this product and not the price. If you prepare Middle Eastern dishes, and especially Persian, this is an essential ingredient in many.

The quality of this, like other Cortas products, is exceptional. I also use their rosewater and orange blossom water and will use no other brand if I have a choice because of the intensity of flavor. This is no exception.

If you are purchasing this for a specific recipe, do not waste the remaining bottle. There are many uses that may not seem obvious at first. My favorite is to base a salad dressing on a teaspoon of this whisked into three tablespoons of olive oil and some dried mint. Pour that over cucumbers, feta cheese and fresh tomatoes for a real treat.

This is also a perfect substitute for any recipe or dish that calls for lemon. In fact, use this in lieu of preserved lemon in any tagine dish for a fresh flavor on an ancient way of cooking.

Do be aware that a tablespoon contains 40 calories, 8 grams of carbs (from sugar) and a gram of fat. If you are counting carbs using this does require close attention, but the fat content is manageable at a single gram, and there is no sodium or cholesterol. Overall, this is relatively healthy.

One final use - if you are cooking Asian dishes that call for tamarind (sampalok in Tagalog) this is a decent substitute.

A bottle is always in my pantry because I do use this to contrast sweetness with a touch of sour, or as an interesting replacement for lemon. You are only limited by your imagination and creativity.

I read about pomegranate molasses so I had to try it! I haven't made anything with it yet, just eaten a little bit at a time but WOW is it decadent! It's dark, syrupy, sour, and a little sweet. A dab of this and I forget about dessert. It's just a really unique flavor with a pleasing metallic undertone. Yum!! I'm going to try making fesenjan next :-)

I really like to use just a little bit of this pomegranate molasses as an unexpected flavor in stews and other dishes. It's sweet and slightly tart and a nice, unusual flavor.

Used this in Moroccan recipes, as a syrup in a brilliant mixed beverage and as a swirled topping on sliced oranges soaked in orange water. Wonderful, wonderful stuff!

What next? I was in a nearby grocery store and spotted Pomegranate Molasses. Gracious! The thought gets my tongue watering! Well, I couldn't resist and picked up a 10-ounce bottle. Mmmmmm, is this stuff good! So far, i've been using it on a Dannon vanilla-flavored non-fat Greek yogurt. I add a couple heaping teaspoon of cooked hemp seeds, stir, and add a couple tablespoons of the pomegranate molasses to top the concoction. Wonderful morning meal with a bowl of fruits. The taste is just overwhelming.

So many uses for this. I use it in marinades, salad dressings, just poured over chicken or salmon. It has it's own sweet and sour taste - hard to describe but very yummy.

Used it for a Bobby Flay recipe involving Brussel Sprouts and then expanded use to bone in pork loin and even a veal is osso bucco. Couldn't have been better. Wonderful flavor. Use as marinade as well.

I would not buy this here, because it is three times the cost of what I paid for it locally.

Having said that, it is a very good dressing that can be used in many dishes. Buy it, then taste some of it straight from the bottle. A good cook will instantly recognize what it can be used for. Sandwiches, salads, ...?

It does have a molasses taste, even though it is not molasses. It is tangy. Try it.
