Many Cirque du Soleil recordings are disappointing because they are not truly the music from the shows. Instead, they are rearranged interpretations of that music -- and often not as appealing as the originals.

This recording of Corteo is an exception. Here is the show music in all its glory. If you loved the music of the show -- and it is some of Cirque du Soleil's most magical -- you'll love the recording as a faithful reminder.

I recently had the pleasure of seeing this amazing show in Dallas,TX. I loved every second of it!! The music in this particular show is probably the best of all the Cirque shows. It makes you feel like you should be floating on a cloud :P!! I must admit I kicked myself after not purchasing the CD after the show but now I'm glad I waited for the awesome Amazon price!

I just saw the show in Washington DC, and the music and show was incredible! This is one you'll want to turn up to full volume! I had to have the cd, and luckily I DIDN'T buy it at the show (though it was very tempting!) At the venue, Cirque sells this cd for $21, and the DVD for $31, so Amazon's prices are MUCH better! Enjoy!

This is an exellent cd. All music is very Cirque du soleil.But, it missed some wonderfull song like the glasses music act with the violinits and others that I heard in the live performance .Anyway,this cd is good music. My favorite song "Anneaux"

Although I am completely obsessed with Cirque du Soleil, I realize they're usually off with their soundtracks.

Most recently, the songs are out of order and reinvented- for unknown reasons and unnecessary.

At least they did 1 of the 2 right!

Yes, the songs are slightly out of order but BELIEVE me, they got the songs sounding perfect.
Tracks #2, 7, 8, 9 and 11 are: simply amazing and actually like the show.

Gorgeous music. What else can one ask for?

I first was attracted to Cirque Du Soleil by the Bravo TV - Fire Within, the reality show for Varekai. I saw how the music being transformed from studio recording to the live performance and it was an eye-opening experience to me.
For those who have attended the live show and listen to the soundtrack, will agree some pieces are so differently managed in studio recording and live performance, it brings out another layer of emotion for every single piece.
I have not yet attended the Corteo performance yet, but I would bet it's amazing, given the beautiful music through out the soundtrack, I especially am fond of "Prendersi per mano". I don't understand what lyrics meant, but my heart just got griped by every note he sang.
Certainly, the performer contributes a lot, but without good scores nor proper arrangement, it's no good either.
I would love to see the live performance one day, but until then, I believe I will continue to enjoy the soundtrack.

Like all Cirque du Soleil productions, the soundtrack for Corteo was fantastic. Unfortunately, my favorite song in the show was changed in the CD. The music for the Cyr Wheel act is slightly different and not as dramatic in this CD, which is a shame.

Otherwise, definitely worth it, as is anything Cirque du Soleil produces.

OK, I admit it, I love Cirque. I've seen this one twice, and the music ranks among the best.

All Cirque music is interesting - right off the bat I have to admit to being a groupie and having seen most of their shows (not Corteo tho). And sometimes the music stands better or worse than it does in the context of the show. Corteo has flashes of brilliance and worth the purchase for that reason. But overall I rate it as only pretty good. Not on the level of the music to O and Ka and Allegria, the Film (the latter in the category of the music reaching heights beyond the show itself. The main track is the one that lives with you.

I ordered this audio cd on 22th of March 2010, it arrived broken and i didnt find anywhere to write this problem, i cannot l,sten this audio cd and it is very annoying not to listen it. Now i find a place to write my comment and give the 1 star because no one returned me back for this problem, i paid for something useless !!
