Platform is simple and does it's job for those who aren't looking for anything fancy. Exercises and timed writings very helpful. Good program for all levels. I would recommend it, and prefer it over many of the newer, fancier typing programs out on the market.

As a fledgling medical transcriptionist, I learned to type using this book. It was simple and clear to follow. I recommend it to all my MT friends who want to type faster and therefore increase their pay. Great help!

I purchased CP Championship Keyboarding and Skillbuilding and Applications to increase my speed and accuracy for typing. I love the book, because it teaches you how to type as far as how to hold your fingers when typing and which fingers to use and
how to use them. The book is motivating, also. Yes, it is an old book from 1988 but it is a good one. If you follow it, you will become a better typist. You're going to need a timer for the timed writings and drills. I have a timer on my computer from another typing program that I have. Just good old fashioned typing. It's like the typing books you had in high school, when using a manual
typewriter. There is no CD with this book.

I must confess that I have not gotten very far with this book. It is a really old-fashioned kind of typing book. I am sure it is good for you, but it is kind of like taking cod liver oil. I wish there was a computer version that would do all the charting for you, etc. Also, it just generally needs to be rewritten for this day and age. For example, who needs to know things like the "Main Parts of an Electronic Typewriter" and how to load the paper into your typewriter?! The picture for the "Main Parts of a Microcomputer" shows a really old style computer with a slot for a floppy disk with no CD-ROM drive.
