3.0 out of 5 stars Great content, weak publication, August 30, 2006
This review is from: Corvette : American Legend 1956 Racing Success (History Series No. 3) (Hardcover)
This could easily have been an excellent book. Noland Adams obviously has huge knowledge of the subject, and he will tell you exactly which prototype racer did not have a certain bit of side trim and why. The presentation of the book, however, is a big disappointment with no color illustrations at all except for the shot on the dust jacket. The black and white reproduction of the mainly color source photos is often weak and lacks crispness. American sports car racing in the fifties was a colorful affair and should be represented as such. Anybody interested enough in the subject to buy this book would gladly pay a few dollars extra for, say, 16 color pages.
