Corvette Grand Sport Photographic Race Log of the Magnificent Chevrolet Corvette Factory Specials 1962-1967, December 22, 2008
This review is from: Corvette Grand Sport (Motorbooks Classic) (Paperback)
I love this book, I Purchased the 1999 hardcover version(with the #80 Car on the Cover) awhile back. The story in all of its glory. This was and is the Cobra killer.and the shelby boys and ford boys running scared! shame that these cars did not get the recognition they deserve. There is one Discrepancy which is odd,in the 1989 Hardcover Which I also have(Rare even more Expensive 1st Edition with The #3 Delmo Johnson/Dave Morgan on the cover, same isbn and amount of pages, but it says Mbi and MRP-Motorracing Publications on the side hardcover) Version on the last Page there is the Wintersteen Grand Sport #12 Roadster Passing a GT40,this photo is not in the 1999 Version. There is also no Index in the Original Book only in subsequent editions,Also while the 1999 Book has subtitled inside on the 2nd Page:Photographic Race Log of The Magnificent Chevrolet Corvette Factory Specials 1962-1967,the Original 1989 Book has The Subtitle on the Very Front Cover and on the Page.

Almost like they never existed., March 20, 2005
This review is from: Corvette Grand Sport (Motorbooks Classic) (Paperback)
Good book, but not great. Unfortunately, it is the only pice of writing on these 5 legendary cars that GM engineers built and raced in "secret". Lots of photos you won't find elsewhere, and it is the only place the incredible story of these cars is recorded. How funny that GM marketing "commemorated" (with the 1996 'vette) these cars, which they did not support, and actually axed when they found out about them. This story just goes to show what a driven group of individuals at GM were able to achieve with passion, means, and hard work - they were able to defeat the Ford racing machine and the legendary Cobras!
