More About the Author

Shara is the first one to admit she is a little off. Her favorite movies are Steel Magnolias and Apocalypse Now, with a little Godfather and Animal House thrown in for fun. When not planning to take over the world, she can usually be found having deep and meaningful conversations with her kids about the meaning of life or trying to talk her husband into buying her weapons -- just in case of Armageddon.

Oh my goodness, I just loved Cory. He is my dream of a cowboy. He's a really good guy and a knight in shining armor. He's good-looking but very down to earth. He thinks he's no good with women, for all the things. If he was real, I'd be chasing him down. He takes in a woman and her child who are obviously running from someone, and his heart recognizes his true love in her. He also falls in love with her young child. Race doesn't even factor in. I just love how Shara Azod manages to write a very steamy read but doesn't leave the romance and the true love story by the wayside. I wish that more modern cowboy books had this feel to it, and that more cowboys were like Cory in real life.
Cory is a sexy cowboy, but he's not a womanizer who takes advantage of his rodeo skills to bed saddle bunnies. I really like that about him. I guess my pet peeve is that too many romance novel heroes are portrayed as womanizers who'll sleep with any woman who's willing. That's really not sexy to me.

I liked Stephanie, also. She's the vulnerable type, having come from a bad home and having low self esteem, but found the strength to leave behind the really bad guy who was using her and hurting her, and to get her child away from him. She knew a good thing when she found Cory, and didn't let her baggage cause her to walk away from the man who is the love of her life. Some of the things her ex-boyfriend did to her were just horrible. Her ex was a lowlife, and Cory didn't hesitate to give him what was coming to him. I didn't feel any sympathy for the man considering how lowdown he was.

This is a short read, but everything's there that would make a romance novel fan happy. I am so glad that I took a chance and downloaded this gem of an ebook.

Stephanie Lewis is the new housekeeper for Cory Booker and his father. On the run from an abusive ex, she doesn't trust easily nor does she let down her guard. She can't afford to - she has someone innocent to protect.

Cory Booker is an ex rodeo cowboy turned rancher. Never one to want a woman for more than one night at a time, he is somewhat taken aback by his feelings for his new housekeeper. The fact that he senses she is hiding something keeps him on his toes and ever watchful. He knows without a doubt that she is in trouble and vows to himself that she will be safe - in his arms.

Stephanie was a classic case of abuse. Made to feel worthless for years, she was striving to become more independent even while trying her best to stay hidden. Her trust in men was non-existent, and I loved watching Cory change her mind and begin to make her believe in forever.

Slow paced at times, Cory's Salvation was a good read. I found myself often getting so immersed in the story that I forgot where I was. Cory and Stephanie's story is timeless, and while at first I didn't think Cory was hero material, my mind quickly changed. Cory's Salvation tugged at my heart strings with its romance and sensuality. I will definitely read another book by this author.

this story was short and to the point, which is good for a short story. I love to read anything Shara Azod writes typo's and all. I like this story very much and give it a 4 star rating.
I purchased this book at Amazon.com and will continue to order books from Amazon because they always, always have any selection I want

I found myself wishing for a bit more story line on either character in this book because it has a great foundation to build on but Shara didn't deliver as much as I needed her to.
Cory seems to be a great man who doesn't want any more drama in his life but when Stephanie and her little boy came knocking at his door he steped up to the plate and became the man they needed.
Stephanie is running from her past and answers an ad Cory put in the paper for a housekeeper. Her past is rocky and I wish I knew more about that, Shara hit a few highlights on the subject but not enough for me to have any real feelings about it.
When Cory and Stephanie finaly get together I was left wondering about the months in between them meeting and becoming lovers. I got almost nothing that showed me how they fell in love with eachother.

The ground work is there I guess Shara just wanted us to fill in the blanks. But all in all with an imagination of your own this book is a good read.

Cory's Salvation is an excellent short story. I would have liked to have had a back cover summary or exert on the main idea, but from the cover you can interpret that the story involves a cowboy and female. The background given on Cory sets up the story and when Stephanie comes into the picture as the housekeeper, her background in regards to her abusive boyfriend, Ramon, is revealed from her thoughts and interactions with Cory. Ramon is an abusive and obsessed individual that is still searching for his girlfriend until he accidently comes across her out with Cory. There are a couple of supporting characters, but they remain in the background for most of the story.
I give Cory's Salvation three stars because really the story was only seventy pages and I read it in thirty minutes. I wanted a longer book at the time.
