We've had one of these stools for a few years and it works great for reaching high places while still having the extending hand rail to keep steady. Just bought another one for my elderly mother in law after we learned she was climbing up on a kitchen chair to reach things. It's lightweight, folds and unfolds easily, and the hand rail extends easily as well.

I wanted a stable step stool to replace an old, standard kitchen 2 step stool that did not lock in place. The lock was important to the stability of the stool. This stool fits my needs and would have received 5 stars except the bottom step is too narrow to comfortably stand on.
