lightest most durable step ladder with extension handle,

This review is from: Cosco 11-630ABL1 Magic Fold Three-Step Aluminum Step Stool Silver (Tools & Home Improvement)
We looked a long time to find a very light but durable step ladder to use frequently in the house. We finally found this one and purchased it in Aug. 2006 at Lowes. It is used at least 1-2 times per week if not more as we have tall ceilings. I LOVE the light weight frame. In comparison, no other ladder like it was this light. Lowes does not show this exact one anymore :(
The top "handle" extends and locks into place another 10" or so higher. I know you shouldn't stand on the top step BUT I do and this is a life saver, literally! Easy to set up and take down as well as move around since it is so light. I am on line now looking for another one for a relative and am so glad they are still made. Lowes advertised Cosco ladders and have some similar but not this exact one. I wanted the lightest, durable and with an extension handle and this is it!

I purchased 3 of these two years ago. They are used at least 4 times a week. They are strong, light and expand to provide a steady handhold for work from the top shelf.
I use these for reparing large standby generators and for stocking retail shelves.

Great stepladder for indoor use when a chair is not high or secure enough. Sturdy, with telescopic hand bar for extra stability. Folds to a couple of inches and slides in between my refrigerator and wall. Perfect for small apartment living.

Got the ladder and it's a little "wobbly." Once you stand on it, your weight stablizes the legs, but it isn't steady unless there is weight on it. Not perfect but will do.

I have been searching for the perfect stepladder, and I have finally found it! This one is very light, which was important to me because I am a small person with practically no strength. But, we also needed one that was sturdy because my husband is 6' and 200+ lbs. Not that he uses it too often, but when he does, at least we know it will be safe. This is also very easy to open and collapse. It is still compact even though it has 3 steps, and fits between our fridge and countertop. I'm so happy with this purchase...highly recommend it!

I previously bought the Polder 3 Step Featherweight ladder which I can literally carry with one finger. This ladder is slightly heavier and doesn't fold up quite as thin but the steps are wider and it feels sturdier while still being quite light and compact. I feel more secure on this ladder, especially on the top step, than I do on the Polder.

I recently saw this product at my sister's home and knew I wanted it for my own use. I was unable to purchase it at my local stores and went onto Amazon and there it was. I am a senior citizen and the added protection of having the extended handle at the top is a wonderful addition. I have already shown it to many of my friends who say they will be purchasing it.

Well I agonized between this ladder and the Polder 5620-92 3-Step Featherweight with Rail, Aluminum 3-Step. I bought this one because of "a reader"'s review. This was a good choice but I guess I'm a victim of wanting good design. I expected this ladder to be a bit lighter and narrower ( yes I know); as well as a bit better looking in the materiels. At work we have a 3-step and a 5-step Leifheits. Truly, the best if you can afford it and with this economy, I no longer can. I live in a condominium and will expect to play uncle to my partner's two darlings. So for those reasons I went with compactness (handle retracts) and safety (good wide and deep steps). I would have really liked to see the Polder model in person. This ladder is advertised as 3-positions but I can only get it to "click" in the down and up positions. The release latch is very nice though and won't let you pinch fingers. As I need to get into a corner cabinet and the open area above the cabinets, I feel very secure in leaning forward on the top step and hard against the handle bar. No question that Cosco builds with safety in mind. Overall I'm very happy with my choice. Btw, I thought the retractable handle was a little gimmicky but I have since used it both ways. Came in a good box with not too many tears in the cardbox.
