5.0 out of 5 stars Versatile ladder, July 30, 2010
This review is from: Cosco 20-417T1AS Worlds Greatest Multi-Position Type 1A Ladder, 17-Foot, Aluminum (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought this ladder from walmart for $117 and really like it. It's easy to adjust and reasonable light considering it's size/versatility. My only complaint is it makes my hands black when I handle it (despite trying to wipe it all off).

4.0 out of 5 stars Good But..., July 7, 2011
Pro's: Can be used in many ways. Will replace my 8 foot step ladder and I needed a 10 foot step ladder and an extension ladder and now I have one. This is my second ladder and it is much more sturdy than the first one (the first one looked like it had been well used and then returned).

Con's: This thing is heavy. It is a bit awkward to move around. Hands get dirty because of the aluminum. I do not think this is necessary. Also have to watch your fingers when you set it up or you may lose one! Not sure of how long it will stand up as I did get one before and it was really lose and unstable, but this one seems good.

All in all I think it is good. I will keep it but it is not a 5 star unit. But with a few fixes at the factory, I think it could be a 5 star ladder.

5.0 out of 5 stars COSCO MULTI POSTITION LADDER, December 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Have been using ladder for about a month now and love it. It's a little on the heavy side for my wife but she was still able to move it around to decorate her 14' Christmas tree. Love the ladder!

5.0 out of 5 stars Half the price!, November 22, 2011
This review is from: Cosco 20-417T1AS Worlds Greatest Multi-Position Type 1A Ladder, 17-Foot, Aluminum (Tools & Home Improvement)
I first saw all the ads on TV for the little giant. I work maintenance at a couple of Fitness Clubs at night and needed a secure, versatile ladder for high ceilings, stairs, etc. and considered buying one. Then I saw the Cosco brand for half of Little Giants and purchased it for the same price as above. I have used it now for 3 years and love it. Expecially for high places, I feel more secure on it than a lot of extension ladders I've used in the past. Great Ladder.

4.0 out of 5 stars Many Uses, October 11, 2011

I bought this ladder when getting ready to paint my entire house. It is very sturdy and fits the bill nicely for portable, stable scaffolding well too. It's a little heavy and cumbersome at times, however when one desires a sturdy base, especially working above your head, this is expected. I strongly recommend this for one that has some decent upper body strength, or at least get some assistance to avoid injury when moving or breaking it down into separate pieces. Overall it serves it's purpose well.

This ladder is exactly what I needed. It is very versatile and practical. The only negative is that it is very heavy and somewhat awkward to move around.

So far so good. I have a little trouble getting the ladder to lock in certain positions, but overall seems to be a great value for the money.

4.0 out of 5 stars too expensive at Amazon, go Walmart, September 12, 2009

You can search Walmart and get the same product for $89. Granted with tax it's more than $89, still much cheaper than this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cosco 17' Multi Ladder, November 23, 2010
This review is from: Cosco 20-417T1AS Worlds Greatest Multi-Position Type 1A Ladder, 17-Foot, Aluminum (Tools & Home Improvement)
I picked up mine at our local Pamida here in Princeton, MN today(11-23-10). They had an ad for $99.99 but after the 15% senior discount it was basically $85.

I got it home and "played" with it a bit to get used to it but with temps in the lower teens there was no way I was going to play outside with it so I parked the car outside and played with it in "my room".

I have a 17' regular extension ladder and the Cosco Multi is a lot better. It feels stiffer and more solid and pretty much will also make my 4' & 6' step ladders obsolete(anybody want to buy them? $82.50 each LOL). It is easy to use but now I have to buy a nice 8' 2X12 board so I can use it as a scaffold. I tried it with a 2X4 with the legs about 4' apart and the ladder seemed very solid. The good part is that the 2X4 didn't break! With a "real" board it will work great.

Now I can't wait for Spring so I can test it while cleaning out the gutters. Who am I kidding? I can wait!
