Excellent for the money,

This review is from: Cosco Juvenile High Back Booster Car Seat, Viola (Baby Product)
We bought this car seat last month for my husband's car. It installs in a snap, very easy with the LATCH system. I love that this seat still has the 5-point harness, even though it's for toddlers. My daughter just turned 2, and she was too tall for some of the 5-point car seats. This one fits her perfectly, and leaves some room for growth.
I needed to adjust the straps when I took it out of the box, and it took perhaps 5 minutes to make the necessary adjustments. Not bad for a kiddo carseat. The cloth is easy to remove and it says it is machine washable, another plus. The belts are sturdy, and the fasteners are perfect for adults - just the right amount of force needed to open them so my daughter cannot undo herself. The only downside we've noticed is that there is not much support for comfort along the sides of the carseat. My daughter's other seat has 'wings' along the head, so if she falls asleep her head stays cushioned and comfortable. There's not much in the way of head support on this seat, so when she falls asleep her head lolls a bit. Overall, excellent purchase for the money!

This review is from: Cosco Juvenile High Back Booster Car Seat, Parker (Baby Product)
We have four children and a Jeep Commander. The Commander is a slim vehicle which seats 7. This car seat is about 1/4 the price of sunshine kids seat (the only other seat that seemed as thin). I bought this seat to replace an older version we used with our six year old, our five year old and wanted some fresh for our two year old (the was nothing wrong with it except it was dirty and well used). I love it! The style is nice and hides stains well.:)

My father-in-law got one of these through our local police department for the grandkids. My daughter and her cousins have all ridden in it and have, of course, fallen asleep in it to. : ) It's a great car seat for the price!
When it came time for us to upgrade our Car Seat from the convertible to a high back booster, we originally went with the Graco Turbo Booster. While that one is fine, easy to assemble and grows with the child up to 100lbs, we found that our daughter could easily unlatch the seat belt and free herself while we were driving. Since she was in the backseat, one of us would have to turn around and re-buckle her, or pull over completely and do it if alone driving. It was really annoying, and as much as we told her not too, that it was dangerous, etc., she's 3 and still will do it. So we decided to order the same one as Grampa, and boy are we happy we did! Here are the Pro's and Cons: Graco Turbo Booster: Pros: Price is reasonable $49. Grows with the child 30-100lbs, goes from a high back booster to a regular booster without the back. Colors and patterns are fun. Easily switches between cars (because it is not hooked into a cars LATCH system, it just rests on the seat of the car and the child's weight holds it in place(along with the seat belt over the child's body). Cup holders on either side which slide into the seat when not in use. Cons: Is NOT SECURED to the car through LATCH (see above) and DOES NOT use a 5 point harness system to hold child in the seat. That being said-this seat has NEVER moved in the time we've had it (about 4 months). Seat itself is not really padded, our daughter sometimes complains that her back hurts sitting in this seat. When the child falls asleep you will get SEVERE head roll, sometimes like a whiplash action. Going around corners (while child sleeps) can throw the child from side to side-even at low speeds! Even though the child doesn't seem bothered by it, it really disturbed us and we tried a pillow to keep her more upright, but nothing worked-except to pull the booster forward over the car's seat so that the back reclines a bit. Which is not recommended as it compromises the seat's stability in a crash and is not considered safe. Cosco High Back Booster: Pros: Price is reasonable $42. Hold s a child up to 80lbs. Has a 5 point harness and can use the seat belt too as the child gets larger and doesn't need the harness. Harness is pretty tough for a little one to figure out and get out of, a squeeze and then a pull apart over the chest, and a buckle into the crotch area. Hooks directly into LATCH in cars equipped with it (not sure about older cars since we have cars from 2003 that have LATCH). Fun colors/patterns. Cons: Seat padding isn't the best, but we haven't heard our daughter complain about her back in this one as much. Head lolling still occurs, but because of the 5 point harness, the child stays upright and is less likely to get that whole rag-doll/whiplash thing going on while sleeping. A little more work to move this from car to car-but if you've had to do it with any other Car Seat (like us), then you are probably a pro and it won't take you but 5 mins or so. Cup holder does a poor job holding anything upright and falls off regularly. Hopefully Cosco can work on this and improve it's design. If your car is designed with cupholders built in near your little one-then use those instead of this one. Otherwise-make sure all your Sippies have valves that work or you'll be cleaning up the backseat or trying to catch a runaway Sippy. Hope this review helps. We are happy we switched to this over our Graco, due to our concerns for our daughter's safety. We are keeping the Graco since it holds kids up to 100lbs-figuring that by then, we would be getting a backless booster (which Graco turns into) anyway and we've already paid for the Graco so we might as well use it eventually. 2115|R3R9GNMNQ5BDIT;2115|R1TR7478HY2G0F;2115|R3U59YSZ5AXUR8;
