Sanity in short sentences,

This review is from: Cosmic Command (Paperback)
Cosmic Command is a strange title, but it captures what Vernon Howard taught, ie., that above our usual, learned thinking is a part of us that "knows," that is not caught in the mire of tension, appearances or egotism. I have read many of Howard's books, and "The Power of Your Supermind" is a good place to begin, as it is clearly written and eases you into his philosophy. Cosmic Command is a collection of very short epigrams that crystallize the essence of his thinking. "Pretense is tense." "Do not give your life away to the neurosis of other people, for it is not required of you." "Correct the mind and we lose the burden of correcting everything else." I highly recommend Cosmic Command, but keep reading if you don't get it at first. At some point you will, and the result will be like the lights coming on at the annual haunted house...the hoax of fear and illusion is exposed.

Cosmic Command -- modern mysticism,

A little deflated at the one-sentence entries, at first. However, surprisingly enough, reading had an uplifting, pleasant effect. Not reading the book for few days at a time and common anxiety/depression states returned. Note:The titles of Vernon Howards books are a kind of marketing/advertising tool, it seems. If the titles were strictly descriptive, the would cause one to yawn, such as, 'Mystic Truisms,' vs. 'Cosmic Command.' Although not popular thinking, Vernon's Books are not 'flaky' or nonsensical. They do, in fact, cut through a lot of the insanity and foolishness of conventional thinking.
