4.0 out of 5 stars Quango Cosmic Funk
This is a good experiment about some classic funk and soul with electronic music. The first track it's a classic from Marvin Gaye "[T] Plays It Cool", but it a have the touch of Miguel Migs (great DJ). If you like the new experiences this is a cool CD.

2.0 out of 5 stars This is boring
Sounds like the "Latin Demo" setting on a drum machine played over and over. The title is misleading; there is noting remotely cosmic or even funky about these tunes. The Quango label has had some great releases, but this is not among them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Bland and Flavorless, September 7, 2001

My favorite type of music currently is anything funk infused/future jazzz/sci-fi sounding, so the name of this CD was a natural--I scooped it up without ever hearing it. Getting it home, I found Brazilified would have been a more appropriate name. I like nu-Brazilified stuff too, but this is just too bland. Amazon's narrative is pretty much right on--everything sounds the same. It's like a whole CD of filler. The two good things I can say about it is that it's too flavorless to offend, and there aren't many vocals. Still, I can rarely seem to make it all the way to the end, even when I'm trying.

If you need chemical assistance to enjoy and perhaps find a deeper meaning to music, don't bother with this one. This beautiful cd was compiled by Quango's Bruno Guez and is a taste of some "Cosmic Funk". Not earthy, heavy funk like some might have expected. The title says it all. If you are up for the experience, go for it. One thing, it is light! Very light! Don't expect this cd to go head to head with some Maggottron rebirth or anything of the likes. This one is for chillin out.

Almost sounds like african rythyms. Latin??? get a life!
