When my dad and mom first bought it at M.I.T.I was excited to open it. While I was waiting in line. I kept on pressing the try me button. It was glorious, bright, and most of all magnificen. I enjoy reading it because when I flip the pages everything I read goes in my head.

I purchased this book for my husband, who enjoys astonomy (and I enjoy pop-up books) and he loves it. Actually, everyone loves it and enjoys going through it time after time. Very well done, and I recommend it for any age.

Purchased as a birthday gift and it was THE #1 gift. ALL the kids dropped everything and crowded around to read it. Had to get it for ourselves. My 4 year old loves it too! Highly recommend this book. You will not be disappointed

Having been blown away by Predators' amazing pop-ups, I thought I'd give this self-described "ultimate 3-D guide to the universe" a try. I checked out Amazon's trailer, which provides a perfect page-by-page preview of the book and its special features, before buying it. The cover has a dot marked "Try Me" that, when pressed, illuminates ten flecks of constant white light surrounding the sun followed by ten (half red/half white) flickering flecks concentrated at a solar flare. Opening the book to the first set of two pages and pop-up of the Big Bang trips a sensor that results in the emission of an appropriate accompanying sound. There are four related flaps. The second set of pages, Looking Into Space, has a slider about light waves and galaxies, a simple mini pop-up about the scale of the universe, and a flap with alternate views of the inside/outside of the Hubble Space Telescope; the third, The Planets, merely four flaps; the fourth, Our Solar System, contains my favorite pop-up (of the properly oriented planets on an ultra-exaggerated scale); the fifth, Stars, has a large, tough-to-turn disk showing the birth of a star and a flap of the inside/outside of the sun; and the sixth, Galaxies, has a smaller, easy-to-turn disk of an active galaxy and three flaps. The final set of pages, entitled Exploring Space, contains the last of the four (total) of the book's pop-ups, the Apollo 15 Lander.Although the pop-ups could have been more impressive, I liked Cosmic! The ultimate 3-D guide to the universe, especially for its quantity of information, unexpected cover lights and Big Bang sound effects.
