5.0 out of 5 stars Tarot Friendly for Beginners
I am thoroughly enjoying the book as a companion to the Tarot cards. However, one thing that needs some clarfication is the "role of the optional Unknowable Card" in the Cosmic Tarot deck. I do not see this card in the deck. Maybe they have discontinued including that card - and if so, then the author should update and make some revisions. I ordered another set of...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing effort...
This is a deeply flawed effort! The book is in desperate need of an editor. There are so many layout errors that it looks like a final draft. Some of the references to people (in the "Related Examples", of the individual Major Arcana cards) are almost comical.

This review is from: The Cosmic Tarot: Signposts Along the Path (Paperback)
This is a deeply flawed effort! The book is in desperate need of an editor. There are so many layout errors that it looks like a final draft. Some of the references to people (in the "Related Examples", of the individual Major Arcana cards) are almost comical.

I was looking for a book on the wonderful "Cosmic Tarot" deck, as the books that I have - and find really valuable to study the Tarot - mainly reference the Rider-Waite deck and its imagery. Although this book does include the Cosmic Tarot images, the descriptions of the cards are pedestrian, flacid, and somewhat perfunctory (shallow). I was hoping for - and expecting - more!

The Cosmic Tarot deck is such a wonderful deck, I can only hope that Ms. Clarson hastens to (self-)publish a "Revised Edition" as soon as possible. Reading this version was physically and emotionally painful!

For now, I recommend that everyone interested in this deck stick with the book that comes with it. Jean Huets does a MUCH better job of providing descriptions of this deck, and the individual cards of the tarot, than does Laura Clarson!

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Addition to my Cosmic Tarot Collection, November 13, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Cosmic Tarot: Signposts Along the Path (Paperback)
I just got this book today, glancing at it I know it will definitely add to my Cosmic Tarot Collection - I love how the author has a section on how this card in a spread with other suits affects the reading
I also love a separate section on what the Ace - Ten of each suit means with a brief explanation - Yes for me this is a keeper
Each person has to really decide what they want in a book, I am very happy with the book I got with my Cosmic Tarot Deck but this book can definitely add to my journey with this deck in a very positive way
Not a regret on buying this one - Happy I did and the Seller was awesome

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Awesome Tarot Book!, March 19, 2008

I absolutely love this book! It is written in a way that is very easy to understand, and includes so many more things that the other tarot books I've read. Such as what the individual suits and numbers mean. Also information on meanings for a certain combination of cards, aside from their individual meanings. I also like all the individual spreads she includes, especially the Soul Purpose Spread! This is a perfect companion to such a beautiful deck. I often refer to this book for whatever deck I am reading from. I am so glad I bought it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best I've ever seen!, December 16, 2007

I am fairly new to tarot, and this book blows every other book I've seen out of the water. This book describes the major & minor arcana in detail, along with a picture. There is a meaning given, reverse meaning is given, and how such a card might be interpreted with particular other cards (with the Hermit it could infer this, with the two of cups it could mean...etc). The book also gives meanings for the cards in the minor arcana two different ways - individually, and in a group ( the Aces are new beginnings, the two's are balance between people or viewpoints, the threes are synergy...). I am psychic, but when I get nervous, I like to have something to distract the person getting the reading so that I don't feel like I'm pinned to the wall by their gaze. However, I am also a little lazy, and just trying to make sense of the cards themselves was really hard. This book was exactly what I was looking for, and I can't recommend it highly enough.
In addition to that, I really like the pictures, which is high praise, because I only have one other deck after several shopping expeditions, because I just didn't like the pictures on the decks, or the pictures seemed totally unrelated to the actual meanings.
