4.0 out of 5 stars Cute little alarm clock
Just bought this at Target and it is a really cute little alarm clock. The stars on the ceiling are really cute- I just wish it had an auto off button for the stars because I can see the bulb burning out pretty quick if it is left on all night. You can wake up by radio, buzzer or a princess song and voice. I have no problem getting the AM/FM to work. It is a little...

My daughter loves this clock, especially because the singing and the nightlight that projects stars onto the ceiling (which is an unusable feature now). As a parent, I feel differently. The material is cheap, the music is low quality making it hard to understand the words, and we have yet to find a fm or am station it will pick up. There is not an auto off for the projection light and ours died out after 4 months. I could not find a way to get to the light bulb to change it, so my husband worked on it. He had to take out all the electronics in order to reach the light, which is fiber optic encased in a housing unit that does not come apart, so the light is unchangeable. I am very disappointed as the music and lights were the main selling point of this unit.

You can wake up by radio, buzzer or a princess song and voice. I have no problem getting the AM/FM to work. It is a little annoying that it is a turn dial for the radio stations and not digital. I can't tell what station I have it on. My daughter is only 6 so she doesn't need to wake up to the radio anyway. I think it is really cute. It is smaller than it looks in the picture which is a good thing.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE this adorable Princess Radio Clock, December 5, 2007
This review is from: Princess Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
This Disney Princess Alarm Clock Radio is absolutely adorable and has some neat features. It's a cute lil alarm clock radio. It isn't a big expensive boom box or mp3 player, no. But it's perfect for kids. You don't have to have fancy smancy technology to use your imagination and be a Princess who has her own castle of asmusement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Disney Princess Alarm Clock Radio, January 3, 2011

After searching several sites for a child's bedside table clock, I finally found this pink castle radio alarm clock on Amazon.com. It is adorable! My daughter loves it, particularly because it not only projects stars on the ceiling but she can also listen to Cinderella singing or the AM/FM radio. She was formerly scared of the dark, but now she is quite comfortable to stay in bed listening to pretty music and watching the stars at night.

For those who have commented that it is a cheap plastic product, I rebutt that this clock is solid and sturdy -- perfect for a child! If you wanted an expensive clock for your little angel's bedside table, then you would not be looking at a pink castle clock to begin with!

This castle clock is a nice size and is definitely a great value.

4.0 out of 5 stars We love this clock!, November 14, 2008
This review is from: Princess Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
We've had this clock in my daughter's room for 6 months (she is 2 years old). She loves it. She likes turning on the stars (ceiling projection) every night when she goes to bed. She also likes pressing the demo button to hear the song clips. We haven't had any trouble with radio reception. We have not used the alarm yet. Also, after 6 months of having the stars on every night (and sometimes all day if I forget to turn them off in the morning), the light still hasn't burned out. My only complaint is that I would prefer a digital tuner to the dial.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great addition to my princess' bedroom and her morning routine, September 12, 2008

I gave my 5-year-old daughter a choice between this and the Rescue Pets "Wake Me Up" puppy alarm. She chose this Disney Princess Alarm Clock Radio and she is very happy with it. Before we had this, I had to pull her out of bed, only to have her crawl back in when I wasn't looking. Now, after waking up to Cinderella's singing, she comes out of her room with a smile on her face, ready to start her day.

The design of the clock is adorable. It's your standard digital alarm clock in a cute castle casing. You can wake to a buzzer, radio, or audio from the Disney Cinderella movie. The sound quality could be better. The Cinderella recording sounds a little muffled and the radio would sound better if the speakers were stereo, but the reception is pretty good. Even AM stations like Radio Disney come in as clearly on this radio as on other radios (ofcourse FM comes in clearer). There is a wide range for the volume which is convenient for finding just the right decible to wake you up.

The projection range is not as wide as I had expected. I thought it would cover most of the ceiling. It projects a circular star pattern, that is about 3 feet in diameter, directly above the clock (and part of the wall behind it if the clock is against a wall). It's still a nice feature. I'm pleased with this purchase. It looks great in my daughter's room, and most importantly, it encourages her to get up in the morning.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Concept with very poor follow through, July 31, 2007

I just bought this clock for my Granddaughter's birthday on August 11th. She is turning 6 and is into "everything princess". Seems that just last weeek it was "Spongebob". When I saw this item displayed at our local military exchange, I knew what I was buying for her. The idea of a child's alarm clock with all these fatures (AM radio, FM radio, wake to vocal readings from some of the Disney princess tales and the star projection on the ceiling) was so cool. I am so glad that I decided to open the box when I got home and test it out. First of all, the feel of the buttons and controls is beyond flimsy. I finally got an AM radio station tuned in by holding the clock in my hand and squiizing fairly hard on the tuner side of the clock. I can't believe the tuner is one if those cheesy wheel tuners where the station numbers are printed on the wheel itself. I mean, come on, we have single chip digital tuning that costs pennies. The ceiling projected "stars" is a nice touch and I can see my granddaughter using it as a nightlite and a gazxing point to drift off to sleep. I didn't even get to the FM tuner because I knew it was going to be not much better than the AM section. This company has taken an idea that could have made quite a stur in the preteen princess loving demographic but seems to have chosen to find the cheapest components out there to make this a less than satisfying trip into the Enchanted Forest. I will be returning the clock radio today and searching for something of better quality.

2.0 out of 5 stars Created a very sad princess in my house, May 17, 2010
This review is from: Princess Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
Stars, princess songs, radio and a pink castle- what more could a girl want? How about something that actually lasts more than a few months. We shopped for 3 mths for the perfect alarm clock (yeah a bit long but she wanted something specific). When we found this one it had it all- the looks, the sounds and the lights (which were what sold her over another alarm clock). But after 5 months the light has burned out- and I turned it off every night after she fell asleep! There is no way to change this and she is heartbroken. Because it was an electronic and it was purchased at Toys-R-Us, when we brought it home and found that the bulb couldn't be replaced in the beginning- they would not return it. This is a total disappointment. Don't make a big selling feature something that lasts so short and can't be repaired. We also have some trouble getting a clear radio station on it and it isn't as user friendly as it could be- but we could live with that if the lights hadn't burned out. So sad!

2.0 out of 5 stars poor quality, March 31, 2010
This review is from: Princess Alarm Clock Radio (Electronics)
We purchased this alarm clock for my 6 year old daughter less than a year ago. She loved the princess castle shape and the projected star feature. Within a couple months, the FM radio no longer works. She now has the option of waking up to AM talk radio or the obnoxious pre-recorded disney song. I find the dials and switches for changing stations and turning on and off to be very difficult to use. For the almost $30 we spent, I would definitly have chosen something else.

The alarm clock works well and my daughters like the Cinderella voice clip option for the alarm. It is also equipped with a neat star ceiling projection. However, it is not very loud and it is not easy for anyone under 5 to work. The buttons are small and it's hard for kids to figure out what all of the buttons mean- especially when they first wake up in the morning. My kids end up pushing multiple buttons and I have to come cut everything off- which kind of defeats the purpose of having an alarm clock to help them wake up. For the price I wish it had come equipped with a CD player as well. It would probably work fine for an older child.
