It works very well, no skips.

To make it work I have to get a good mouse pad, but I am not going to do that now coz I am just gonna return this mouse and not waste money on it anymore.
imseriousforreviews
It lasted not quite 2 weeks, before it stopped working out of the blue.

I will start by saying that I was skeptical about the quality of this mouse, but I figured since it was only $10.00 and was prime eligible it would be worth the chance. I purchased this to replace my wired Mac mouse because the scroll ball stopped working in only the downward direction.

Don't get me wrong, this is no Apple Magic mouse but for $10 it is top notch. The plastic on the bottom and the battery door feel a bit "cheap", but the rest of the mouse feels well made. I particularly like the scroll wheel because it has a nice amount of tension to it. There is also a nice hiding spot for the receiver inside the battery compartment.

I am running Snow Leopard on a 20" iMac and when I plugged it the micro USB receiver that came with it, presto! The mouse came to life and was working immediately! No drivers to install, no settings to configure, it just started working,

If you are super picky about quality, click button pressure or scroll wheel tension don't bother with this mouse. If you want a nice mouse that works great for an awesome price, this one is for you!

Updating my review. Still using it and going strong. I have two now and love them both I use the black one and gave this one to my parents. It is the best value I have used. It is exactly what I need it to be. 5 stars, definitely recommend buying one. Also, remember this is ONLY a 10 dollar mouse, so if you find the smallest problem with it, don't be upset. Only quriky thing I find is anytime I close my laptop I have to replug the USB, but that is easy to do for a 10 dollar mouse.

This mouse is good to just get the job done.
* Construction: First, I have to talk about it because you'll think this is a cheap product as soon as you pick it up. It is made of plastic so it is super light, and probably not very durable. However, I travel with it all the time. Toss in my back pack and have had no issues with it breaking. When you first pick it up you'll think, "Am I going to break it?" Unless you are slamming your mouse around it works fine for regular use. That is my experience. I don't take great care of it.

* Battery Life: Owned for +11 weeks. Replaced AA batteries maybe twice. Haven't been paying attention.

* Connection: Just plug into USB and go. It is awesome. I am using the mouse as fast as you can snap.

* Usage:
o Use with 15" MacBook Pro Snow Leopard
o Used mouse for +6 hours straight with no problems.
o It is not my primary mouse, but I do use frequently works great!

* Things I've Used the mouse to do:
o +4 hours of playing online games.
o Manage Email
o Manage Photos.
o General Web surfing, etc.

* Features:
o Click wheel works just fine.
o I have never accidentally clicked the DPI button that someone mention. Don't really use it.

I bought this mouse aware of the risk of buying something nobody else had reviewed. So as the first reviewer, I'll try to be as clear as I can.

First, the bad things:

The plastic feels really cheap. I've always bought Logitech mice and the difference between materials is astronomical. My first impression was that it is made from the same material as those chinese knock-off toys. When you click you can feel the cheapness I'm talking about.

The optical tracking thing of the mouse is one of the worst I've seen. First, the slot at the bottom is bigger than a regular mouse, which usually would make a mouse better, because it makes it more sensitive. Well, the problem here is that it is really weak. In my regular desk, which is painted in black, the mouse does not work. At all. I tried it in another desk, in wood-like finish, and it works OK. So the current solution for this is using a white piece of paper underneath. Second, the red light is annoying. Because the light feels stronger, and the plastic is cheap, you can see the light at the top. I usually work late at night, and it's not even 7 pm and the light is already bothering me. So every time I move the mouse this bright light comes from my hand.

The DPI button is horrendously misplaced. It is just under the scroll wheel. Yes, being able to change the DPI from 800 to 1600 is great, but not accidentally.

To finish the "Bad" section, the transmitter is awful. And I mean awful in the way that I don't even want to stick it in my computer. At least it has "ridges" to make it easy to pull out.

Now, the good things:

Overall, the design is nice. But, of course, I can't give them too much credit for that, since it was copied from the apple mouse.

I was going to buy a mighty mouse for my macbook (my trackpad has stopped working), but they are like $70!!! This mouse is kind of cheap looking/feeling, but it was only $10, so who am I to complain? If I wanted expensive I shoulda shelled out the extra cash, you know? This mouse is easy to use and works great.

One note: When you click with it, it is very loud, so if you are a student planning on using it in a class or the library that is something to keep in mind.
