This book is a must for both accountants and managers. -- National Public Accountant

From the Back Cover

The Cost Management Toolbox provides a good combination of accounting and management, a consistent user focus, a straightforward explanation of management accounting concepts and techniques, a sensible evaluation of modern activity-based management, a real-life flavor, and a lively writing style.
-Charles Horngren, Edmund W. Littlefield Professor of Accounting, Emeritus, Stanford Graduate School of Business

"I was astounded at the clarity of Lianabel Oliver's book. This plain-speaking articulation of business accounting, financial management and strategic planning is an easy read for the average business enthusiast. The section on Costing Principles and Systems is the best I've seen."
-Leroy T. Barnes, Jr., Vice President and Treasurer, The Gap, Inc.

"This book is excellent. It bridges the difficult gap between theory and practice. The book covers the budget process and the important linkages to the firm's strategic plan as well as costs and general financial information. This is a book you can use."
-Richard L. Carrion, President and CEO, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico

"The Cost Management Toolbox takes some complex concepts, frameworks, definitions, formulas and intricate processes, and streamlines them for all levels of business management. The book explains alternative approaches to costing and analysis and objectively points out the pros and cons of competing methodologies. Practices and theory live in complete harmony throughout the text, with well-chosen examples and step-by-step walk-throughs. Your understanding will increase dramatically by reading this book."
-Debi Coleman, CEO, Merix Corporation

"An excellent tool for executives without formal financial background. The book provides a good overview on how to use financial concepts in managing the business."
-Jose Luis Rosado, President and General Manager, SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals of Puerto Rico

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read with great examples, August 8, 2001

I really enjoyed reading this book. By far, it is one of the best I've read in the field of cost accounting. Lianabel does a great job explaining the concepts and bringing them to life with examples. By the way, if you're interested in ABC/ABM, Tom Pryor's book called "Using ABM for Continuous Improvement" is also a great book with lots of examples.

"The Cost Management Toolbox" is an excellent reference book, being a very useful and practical tool for accounting and non-accounting professionals. I use it very often for day to day managerial accounting situations in which the concepts presented by an experienced professional as Lianabel Oliver are very helpful. It is very easy to understand, and its examples are clear and concise.
