previewed book at local library. seems to be a junior high level book. no-nonsense, plenty of drawings for inspiration. briefly describes textiles used and historical periods referenced. planning to use this for bellydance costuming.

4.0 out of 5 stars Everything about Ancient Egyptian Clothing!, June 6, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Costume of Ancient Egypt (Costume Reference Series) (Library Binding)
This book was a bit long-winded but seemed to give a veryaccurate historical picture of the clothing for Ancient Egypt. Theauthor has gone through and describe exactly who wore what from the nobles to the priests to the workman and everything in between in Ancient Egypt. There are numerous black and white drawings and a few color pictures and accurate descriptions of all the outfits. See and read about what an ancient Egyptian woman may have worn while dancing. With some simple sewing skills or even a long piece of cloth one could imitate a costume from Ancient Egypt. If you've ever wondered what the Egyptians wore than this is the book for you.
