Of course it's dated. All classics are. It is nevertheless timeless. Here the author shows how to use simple pattern shapes to make a variety of costumes for children from about five to twelve years old, with the minimun of sewing.Full instructions are given for Robin Hood and Friar Tuck; Little Miss Muffet; Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother; Hot Cross Buns; Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf; the Queen and the Knave of Hearts; the Frog Prince and the Princess; Wee Willie Winkie; Goldilocks and Baby Bear; Little Bo-Peep; Aladdin; Mary, Mary-Quite-Contrary; and Puss In Boots. Most of the costumes are based on a simple one-piece tunic pattern which has only two seams. By cutting the pattern to varying lengths and by altering the neckline and sleeves, garments can be made to fit all sizes.
