5.0 out of 5 stars SALLY RICE, COSTUME DESIGNER, March 8, 2009
This review is from: Costuming For Film: The Art And The Craft (Paperback)
This is by far, the most informative and in depth look at our industry. It takes you on an exciting and intricate journey through all phases of costume design for film, from the very beginning of a project, right through to the wrap, and anyone will benefit and enjoy the voyage, whether you are new to costume design, or a veteran like me.

I recommended it to my girlfriend who is an art director/costumer back east. She ordered the book the next day and concurred that it is by far, the BEST, and I would have to say ONLY guidebook to this industry worth reading. After reading this book, you will have all the information you need to dive in and start getting dirty.

I highly recommend this book to anyone working in (or considering a future in) the film costume industry.
Full of pearls of wisdom on every topic - from on-set etiquette to who does what in the costume workshop, and everything in between.
I was surprised at just how much precious information was packed into this book, and am very happy with my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best "how to" book, so far, on costuming for film, December 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Costuming For Film: The Art And The Craft (Paperback)
It is a shame that this book has had only one printing. It is the text book that needs to be available to all people who think that they want to work in costumes for film. How the job is done is just different enough from live theatre costuming that it should be required for all those graduating with an MFA in Costume Design from Theatre programs who think they want to work in film.
