Coton De Tulear (Kennel Club Breed Series),

This review is from: Coton De Tulear (Comprehensive Owner's Guide) (Hardcover)
I found this book to be very helpful and extremely interesting since. Finding information about these rare dogs is difficult and so I was pleased to find this book was even available. I also enjoyed the photo's in the book and the hints on training and grooming. I would recommend it to anyone considering a Coton De Tulear.

This volume contains an excellent description of breed characteristics and history of the Coton. Showing and training tips are practical and valuable. The section on health care is well presented. Photographs are abundant and beautiful.

A great book for the Coton owner! Our new puppy, Isabelle is the first Coton that we've ever owned, so I wanted to gain as much information about the breed as I possibly could. This book was great! It has information on the history of the Coton, as well as what to expect of the breed, and good information on raising a Coton puppy. The book contains great photos. I highly recommend this book for the first time owner of a Coton, as well as those familiar with the breed. Not many books about this breed available at pet stores or book stores, so I was very pleased to find the book through Amazon!

This is an excellent book. It gives you complete and full rounded information on this breed of dog. I would not adopt into or out to this pet without first having this book read.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of material printed about this breed so I was excited to find this. It was a gift, it was very well received.

A well needed book delivered quickly at a crucial time in my life.
This well written book was delivered quickly from Amazon.com. The day after Thanksgiving I was gifted this wonderful life changing dog, A Coton de Tulear. What kind of dog was this? Where did this breed originate from and why have I never heard of this breed before? How was I to take care of this 9 week old bundle of joy with no knowledge. I thank the Kennel Club Breed Series book for saving me from what could have been a trumatic out come for the dog and myself. As of today I have a well behaved, trained, groomed properly and feed correctly pup. Thank you for all the great tips on training and grooming. I am very happy with this book and would highly reccommend this series to all dog lovers. BRAVO!!!!!

Yes, it is true. Before you buy a dog, you have to do your research into the breed whether it'd be common like a Golden or rare like the Coton. We chose to get the Coton and this book does help a lot! Since there are not many books out there that talk about this rare breed, this book will help you with: training, how-to-do this and that, etc.
I still have it and go through it from time to time. The Coton is a great dog to have too, our Luke is the best!

This book is better then I thought it would be. I was so hard finding a book on this breed they weren't even listing in any of the dog breeds. These little white fluffy cotton balls are happy and friendly to all people. They love to play and chew on their chewy's when teething. I got my coton when she was 3mths now she's 5mths. She is a handful she's very active and love to run in the back yard to release some of her energy. The coton's are also very smart she flew into Las Vegas from Missouri & was put in this small little crate where she could hardly move she traveled 6hrs until she landed in Vegas. At first she was scared but we bribed her out with a bowl of fresh water. Airlines dont allow pets to have anything 4hrs prior to take off they cant have water either. For 12hrs traveling she had a 2hr layoff in Houston. It took her awhile to come out of her crate but she finally did and drank 2 bowls of water. Her tail was wagging, she gave us kisses she fit into the family immediately and her personality like no other dog I've seen. She was so happy to be out of the crate that she was cramped in. I bought her a baby playpen instead of a crate and she loved it and this is where she slept.I left my bedroom door open when it was her bedtime this way she could see me and wouldn't be afraid of her new surrondings. She learned in 2 days to walk on a leash and she let us know she needed to go out by sitting at the sliding glass door gave a bark as if to say hurry I have to go, I never knew of a puppy at 3months to do this. When she gets older she will be the best little dog. She's now 5mths she's teething and she has every chewy & uppy teething bones and she has so many toys as you see I spoil her she's such a good dog. Thank You Mr Knorr for this book it's a bible to me. And those considering a coton de tulear you won't regret it you need patience and they will catch on quickly just learn their body language they are very animated, but also very smart and quick to please. I named my puppy cotton.

Informative enough on the breed.,
This review is from: Coton De Tulear (Comprehensive Owner's Guide) (Hardcover)
This is the only book that I know of about the Coton de Tulear. There are some informative things about the Coton, but there is also general information about caring for dogs that does not pertain to the Coton. Overall, though, it's better than nothing!
