5.0 out of 5 stars String! March 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
I went to just about every grocery and drug store I could think of looking for string. Why does this once common household item no longer exist? When I finally found it on Amazon I was elated. String at last! This is the same cotton string your mom had in her junk drawer oh so many years ago. Good and strong. I used it to lengthen the pull sting on a closet light. It was perfect for this. Get some and stick it in your junk drawer.

4.0 out of 5 stars It does what it is supposed to do April 22, 2010

I bought this twine to truss chickens and other cooking uses. So far, after one use, I've had no problems with it. The twine withstood roasting a chicken at 450° for 60 minutes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product for what is it untended December 13, 2010

It's cooking twine after all.
Works great, doesn't have any coloring or anything like that so it is good for food items. Plus it is biodegradable.

5.0 out of 5 stars I was surprised to see this is made in the USA July 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
I was just about to leave a review and noticed someone else saw that this product is made in the USA. I am loving this product even more and try to promote domestic. I will buy this again.

Its wrapped tight, doesnt fall apart, super clean and came fairly fast (four days after purchase date). I would recommend this product to others. I mainly use this for wrapping herbs so I dont have to fish them all out in the end of the cooking process. Also used for cutting off freshly made cheese (wrapped in plastic) into smaller portions; as well as wrapping meats while being cooked.

4.0 out of 5 stars It's...a ball of butcher's twine December 10, 2012

Got this to fill up to free shipping. Works great on all the chickens I tie up, which is about 2 a year and a couple other trussing jobs I use it for. At this rate, the ball will likely last well into the next decade. Does not burn, even with the oven blazing at 450 for an hour or so.

Rather than buying some expensive twine keeper, I just inverted a small terra cotta flower pot with a hole in the bottom on top of the ball. This has a convenient dispensing hole for the twine and is heavy enough to keep the ball secured. In theory, the clay might also absorb ambient humidity to keep the twine from getting moldy as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars STRONG and DURABLE August 15, 2011

I'm a hard core BBQer and often smoke pork/beef for long periods of time in my smoker. After the previous twine I purchased snapped on me easily after cooking, I was looking for something more durable for my needs. This does the trick. I tied this cooking twine to a few pork shoulders and smoked the meat for 14 hours in my smoker. The string held up incredibly well, even after hours in the smoker at 225 degrees. Sure you can find some cheaper twine out there, but do yourself a favor and pay a little bit more for this durable twine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Made in USA, yeah!! November 26, 2012

Glad to find products that still made in USA. I do my best to stay away from products that come in contact with foods to be made in China, or near China.

I was so happy to get this twine. I have always had to ask a butcher to get it for me. I use it to make a stuffed pork loin.

I think that kitchen string has gone the way of freezer tape in supermarkets. It's impossible to find. As a result, I bought it through Amazon. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Twine!
Not much to say here. It's twine. It ties things. It ties them well. None of it was frayed? Seems to be 185' but I didn't bother to break out the measuring tape....
