This product is as expected, black sturdy cotton mary jane with soft rubber sole. Shipping took 1 week (we ordered late on Friday night). The problem is that Amazon lists the sizing as UK. We therefore ordered the wrong size and had to send back and reorder. To get the correct size, use US sizes.

Yes/whoops, I too ordered the wrong size. :P Please note that the sizes listed, are NOT UK, they are US sizes. So there is no need to convert them using the Amazon sizing chart. (IE: I thought if I ordered the size "6 UK" I would get a size "8 US", but instead I just got the size 6 US.)

I read the reviews above and managed to get the wrong size anyway. However my biggest complaint is not that choosing the correct size is so confusing, but that the return/exchange policy is poor.

I paid 5.99 for the shoes 6.95 for shipping. But needed to send them back for an exchange in size. The exchange policy requires you to pay for the shipping back to the company along with additional shipping for the new pair. By the time its all said and done you end up spending 26.84 on these cheap shoes! It would cost you less to just keep the pair that doesn't fit, place another order, and hope that this time you receive the correct size.

If I were entitled to only one pair of shoes I would go with black Chinese Mary Janes. Why? Well...To begin with they are affordable. Sturdy cotton Chinese shoes with rubber soles go with any fabric in any season, dressy or casual, at any age. I've seen them on teenage girls, middle age executives and little old ladies. They fit any type of foot because they simply take the shape of the foot they are on, and the little strap makes the foot look smaller. This Maryjane slipper is made of a lighter fabric like the shoes we bought 20 years ago in the local health food store. They conform to the shape of the foot and have thinner, more flexible soles. ** Please note that the sizes shown may be confusing. The number shown is the US women's size.
