This is great. Not much more to say but I was appalled by one 3 star review; thought I'd bump up the average. DVD is great too, less so when the French narrator talks over her performance.

True American Treasure,

This is a great package, raw and beautiful, at times even jawing dropping in nuances of performance few possess in our own time. I listen to it over and over. All Karen's recordings are true American treasures, and we are fortunate to have this one released by the French concern Megaphone. I thank them endlessly.

Karen Dalton's been lauded by artists from Devendra Banhart to Dylan--for a reason. She's the you-know-what, seductive, powerful, sincere, traditional but completely herself. Larger than life like a great bluesman, she's got freedom without a whit of pretension. This is a great collection, too. You won't regret it.
