Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Cotton Teeth is the culmination of a year and a half of introspection, experimentation, and discovery for the four talented young men known as The Snake The Cross The Crown. At a time when bands are exhausting every resource to get to the top, The Snake The Cross The Crown have poured their energy into finding and developing their sound. Honest and unassuming folk inspired rock, stripped of all gimmicks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bringing peace to all that find them, June 24, 2007
I recently went to a mewithoutyou show in Detroit, not really knowing what to expect. There were three other opening bands, which I had never heard of before. The snake, the cross, the crown opened first with the beautiful "Cakewalk", and I was blown away. It's been a long time since I've gotten goosebumps from listening to a band play. I've never felt more at peace. The entire show that night was an incredible experience that I'll never forget. If you get the chance to see them in concert, I strongly suggest you do so. The album is amazing as well, full of upbeat tunes as well as beautiful melodies. Take a listen and I'm sure you won't regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my all-time favorite albums, April 13, 2009
This band/album is unique--definitely not just another alt-indie folk experiments that you struggle through as a listener in anticipation for the few moments that truly please the ear. "Behold the River" is a song that takes you on a musical journey through romanticized storytelling, to an alternative America or country that exists in the myth and legend of the past. If both of these horses... ... died. I freakin love that song man. And best of all, this album doesn't seem to get old. I listen to it all the time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hear this album before you die!, December 3, 2008
Some people want to climb a mountain. Others wish to skydive. Still others choose to attempt writing a novel. All of these life-accomplishments are trivial in comparison to the pursuit of truly great music.

The Snake The Cross The Crown is simply THE best band you've never heard. Take acoustic, "Meddle"-era Pink Floyd, some of the best folk-melancholia of early Counting Crows, and add some truly original songwriting that defies comparison. One trip across this record and you will be unable to remove it from your CD player. I can only hope we hear more from these boys, and soon.
