5.0 out of 5 stars Not Just For First Aid Use
Although their presumed intended use is associated with first aid, I've found that these long wooden stemmed cotton tipped swabs work brilliantly in other applications. Because they have a long wooden stem that isn't easily bent, I can use them to get the mud out of my Lab's toenails after a days romp in the wet out-of-doors; can use them with various e.g., silver,...

1.0 out of 5 stars MADE IN CHINA!!
Disclosure should be provided for "sterile" items regarding country of origin. These are made in China and of very poor quality. Save your Money !

This review is from: Dukal Cotton Tipped Applicators, 6", Sterile, 100-Count Boxes (Pack of 2) (Health and Beauty)
Although their presumed intended use is associated with first aid, I've found that these long wooden stemmed cotton tipped swabs work brilliantly in other applications. Because they have a long wooden stem that isn't easily bent, I can use them to get the mud out of my Lab's toenails after a days romp in the wet out-of-doors; can use them with various e.g., silver, bronze, copper or other polishes to get into those small crevices that you just can't reach with a cleaning cloth; can use them to apply lime scale remover to faucet spigots; I even use one to clean the elongated spout of my liquid weather barometer. The list of uses is endless. The cotton tips don't seem to have the tendancy to fuzz or unravel quite as fast as a normal cotton swab. And of course they do work great when applying first aid ointments or creams and are the cat's meow when trying to apply Anbesol to the gums to quiet down post extraction pain. They might not be appropriate for use with toddlers due to the long wooden stem but can't relly comment on that since my toddler is fast approaching the big 4-OH! Bottome line, I like them.

Very handy item to have around the house. I use them to get makeup, lotion etc. out of the bottom of the bottles. Pays for itself in no time!

I had no idea these were long applicators. I was very disappointed with this product and never even use them. I had to go back out to purchase regular smaller ones.

It was not clearly stated that these were so long.

I think it is confusing to the average customer.

This product would do better in another more medical personnel category.
