About the Author

Drew Lamm began her career as a naturalist. Romping through various ecosystems, she led children in nature studies in Ohio, Cape Cod and Canada. As an educator, she has taught life science, English and drama, and was on the faculty of The Writing Project at Teacher's College, Columbia University. Currently, she is a freelance writer, speaker and consultant, and teaches a course on writing at Manhattanville College. In addition to Cottontail at Clover Crescent, Drew has also written Woodchuck at Blackberry Road for Smithsonian's Backyard. She lives with her husband Steve, and daughter, Ellery Rose, in Rowayton, Connecticut. --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

We own the whole set and my kids 2 and 4 love them all. They have no problem sitting through them because they tell a story while also giving facts about the animal. Love them all!

We have 7 or 8 of these books now. Our girls are a little too young to read them themselves yet, but they love the illustrations, stories and physical size. Consistently among the favorite bedtime selections, and one girl keeps trying to take them to school for Show-n-Tell.

The informational aspect is a bit oversimplified, but accurate enough for the target audience.

Note also that most of these books are currently (as of Jan. 2011) eligible for the 4-for-3 promotion.
