Book Description

ALL NEW KINDLE VERSION
Gold Award Winner/ MCA Best Picture Book

Cougar Cub Tales: I’m Just Like You is about a cougar cub brother and sister who, one day, encounter a creature very unlike themselves. They have ungrounded apprehension about whether or not the blind bobcat is “a REAL cougar cub”.
By the end of the tale, they realize that, despite their differences, they really ARE the same where it counts. They learn to overlook their physical differences as they embrace their new friend. It is a timeless story that deals with the everyday issue of intolerance, especially regarding physical difference and disability. It is written in a wonderful nonsensical rhyme, and the eighteen watercolors are an exquisite representation of this charming tale.

Adorable and free book. On ipad it is in color and the illustrations are fabulous. Very fun book to read to kids. --Amazon Book Reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars very good picture book for children, June 22, 2011 By A. K. Bryant "BookWorm" (Little Rock) This review is from: Cougar Cub Tales: I'm Just Like You (Kindle Edition) A nice short story with good illustrations to read to children. Teaches kids to look for things in common rather than differences. Reminds me of Dr. Suess books. I received it as a free download but regular price is only 99 cents. --Amazon Book reviews

5.0 out of 5 stars Purrrrfect, September 13, 2011 By Stacy (Washington State) This review is from: Cougar Cub Tales: I'm Just Like You (Hardcover) We discovered Sharon Cramer yesterday at our local Fair. She is an amazingly gentle soul who has a genuine love for children and the stories she creates for them. I bought both Lost and Alone and I'm Just Like You. Both are fabulously illustrated and written. I love how Sharon weaves real life situations into a fun story that captures my son's attention and causes him to think and relate to his own life. I highly recommend both books!! --Amazon Book Reviews

I would recommend this book to second grade teachers and guidance counselors. what a wonderful way to let students know that being different is okay and that acceptance of others who are different is an admirable thing to do! --Learning Magazine Teacher's Choice Awards Evaluation

I would recommend this book to kindergarten through second grade teachers as a supplement to the curriculum when they study individuals and families. The book was great and i would recommend it to other teachers. Sometimes it is hard to talk about citizenship and help the students realize and relate to realistic situations. The book brought a realistic situation to life and in a kid friendly way. --Learning Magazine Teacher's Choice Awards Evaluation

Bright pictures and rhyming text in this children's picture book formatted for the kindle. Has a good message about accepting differences and using one's talents to help others. I read it on the Kindle for PC with two columns and it displayed well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Well-intentioned, but not up to par January 31, 2012
By CJG
Format:Kindle Edition
The rhyme scheme and illustrations were awkward. The story didn't really make sense, and the message was forced. Overall, my 3-yr-old and I didn't enjoy this.

More About the Author

Hello readers! I am Sharon Cramer, author and illustrator. Writing is my life and passion. My first novel, The Execution, is a 14th century historical thriller with strong elements of intrigue and romance. I am currently working on The Execution's sequel. I am also about to release the first in a six book series called The Cerulean Star, and am also at work on a novel that is set in my home state of Washington.

I am also an artist at heart, I also write and illustrate children's books. That's proven to be my biggest task, but I've grown by leaps and bounds and am so thrilled with my latest, Marlow and the Monster.

I have three grown sons, a granddaughter, and I live with my husband, the love of my life, Daryl, in Spokane, Washington.

Nothing excites and thrills me more than hearing from my readers! Check out my webpage at Talking Bird Books dot com, hit me up for a coffee if you're in the neighborhood, tell me what you like and would like to see. I take your feedback so to heart. You are the fuel for this journey, and I am amazed by all of your comments, the good and the bad. I feel like you are my family.
