Review

I love how this author weaves real life situations into a fun story that captures my son's attention and causes him to think and relate to his own life. --Amazon Reader Review

This is definitely a keeper I will share with little children!!! --Amazon Review

The Sneezy Wheezy Day Written and Illustrated by Sharon Cramer Published by B & F Publishing The Sneezy Wheezy Day is part of the Cougar Cub Tales series, which are charming stories of a brother and sister cub and their antics. In The Sneezy Wheezy Day, brother cub becomes ill, and they go about the forest seeking help from their friends. From balancing a ball on his nose, to shaving his head, brother cub tries all the suggestions his friends are quick to offer, but to no avail. Finally, it is the love of his sister that brings him around and makes him well. This story is delightfully told in an appealing rhyme that is easy to for moms and dads to read to their little ones. Additionally, beginning readers will enjoy this story, though there are some more challenging words for a beginning reader. Finally, the illustrations are bright and eye-catching. I had to pause often before turning the page because my daughter was busy scanning the pictures (there is a bonus creature on each page make a game of finding it). Most of all, I love the message it contains the power of love. It can open up discussions with your child about the importance of loving their brothers and sisters, and how we need to care for one another. I know my kids quarrel about the tiniest things, but this story shows them Sister Cougar s tiny actions just caring for her brother made him feel 100% better. I give it five stars, and would recommend adopting the entire cub series. Look for The Sneezy Wheezy Day in the beginning of 2012, but until then, visit the Cougar Cubs website and check out the other available titles in the series, I m Just Like You, and Lost and Alone. A little bit of akward wording at some points but not bad for free.

The Sneezy Wheezy Day is a delightful, charming children's book that follows a pair of adventurous cougar cubs as they hunt for a cure for boy cougar's cold. The two seek advice from various forest inhabitants; wise owl, king stag, fox, razorback hog, and grizzly old bear. Each animal provides his own unique advice but alas none of the remedies do the trick. Tired and worn out boy cougar lays down to rest, while a worried sister cub fetches him a cup of kitty tea and his comfy blanket, pillow and a big hug. Brother cougar wakes up and feels better because sister cougar loved and cared for him. This book has beautiful illustrations that depicts all the forest creatures. I loved the soothing, rhyming dialogue. I also appreciated the moral of the story that encourages love and companionship between siblings. I would recommend this for children 5-9 as it has advanced vocabulary that young children may not be able to grasp. The Sneezy Wheezy Day is a welcome addition to my child's bookshelf.

In The Sneezy Wheezy Day brother cub and sister cub were enjoying their playful day until brother cub complained that he was not feeling so well. Sister cub suggested they go to some of their fellow forest friends for advice. So they went to White Owl, King Stag, Canadian Goose, Red Fox, Razorback Hog and Grizzly Old Bear and each one of their friends had a different remedy for him to try. Some where sensible but some were a little bazaar. The characters were very charming and showed concern for brother cub.

But the best remedy of all was from his sister cub which included kittycat tea, his favorite pillow and blanky plus tender loving care.

I think that is what most of us would recommend to a loved one that wasn't feeling well. Have them drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest. My favorite is read to them an awesome book just like this one, with tender loving care.

The illustrations were colorful and stirred the imagination.

I highly recommend this book!

I rated this book a 5 out of 5.

I wanted this book for my daughters as we have the first two in the series. This book is absolutely beautiful. The illustrations are individual pages of art. My oldest daughter, who loves art, is inspired by the idea that a "person" is creating such wonderful, colorful pictures.

The story is one of sibling love and nuturing . As a mom I loved sharing this story with my children, and they loved it too.

Book Overview:
Brother Cougar Cub isn't feeling well. The siblings decide to head to the forest to ask their well-intentioned friends for help with treatments. Although their friend's ideas are wonderful and brilliant, it is a sister's love that is the final remedy for the ailing cub! Written in rhyme and illustrated with brilliant watercolor, it is the third book in the award winnings series, Cougar Cub Tales.

Mary's Review:
Poor Brother cougar suddenly doesn't feel well. Sister cougar is worried about her brother so she begins to try and find ways to help him feel better. She takes him to see White Owl, Royal King Stag, The Canadian Goose, Red Fox just to name a few and each with their own remedy or cure. Poor Brother cougar only gets worse. Suddenly Sister cougar knows what will really help her brother. She takes him home, wraps him in his favorite blanky and makes him a cup of tea.
She gives him a big hug and sits with him while he rests. When he wakes, he is better. He realizes it is because of his sister's love and care.
Sister cougar gives her brother unconditional love and caring service to help her brother.
Beautiful illustrations help to tell this rhyming story.
I recommend this book for ages 4-8.

More About the Author

Sharon Cramer is an aspiring time-traveler, alien princess, and master painter of halloween faces. In the meantime, she writes from a dank, dark cave, somewhere in Washington State. She's just released the first in a sci-Fi fantasy series called THE CERULEAN STAR, and has a breakthrough novel, beloved by an amazingly loyal following, called THE EXECUTION. Movie coming soon! (Check out Book Video!)

When not planning historical ruin and perfectly crushed hearts, Sharon can be found wandering somewhere in obscure Eastern Washington, talking to herself. Driven by sleeplessness and a seemingly endless draw to the keyboard (and the occasional extra strong "special" coffee) she is inspired by unorthodox friends and extreme weather. Mother to three sons, a nerd horse, a bad cat, and eleven fish (who all have names) she is married to a man who surely has won the Nobel Prize for Extreme Tolerance.
