I love Sandra Kitts if not for her. I would never have read the book. It was boring and so slow.

We have to learn not to sweat the small stuff and dwell on the happiness we find in relationships. The three novellas in COUGAR TALES give insight to the growing trends of younger men dating older women.

How to Handle A Woman by Sandra Kitt, divorcee, Geneva meets the perfect gentleman while attending a charity auction at her nephew's school. The six years difference between Bradley and Geneva is a brick wall, even with the amazing chemistry they have between them. Each time Bradley cracks the wall, Geneva finds a reason to re-seal it, leaving Bradley wondering how to handle this lady.

Against Her Better Judgement, written by Evelyn Palfrey tells the story of no nonsense, always alone, work alcoholic Judge Beverly Polk. Beverly says she can take care of herself and resents having the handsome thirty-five year old Devon as her bodyguard, and invading her personal space. But when he starts to invade her dreams, the judge begins to question the decisions she has made.

In Stormy Weather by Laura Castoro, we find Beverly Freeman excited about the birth of her first granddaughter. Beverly wonders where the smoothing voice is coming from and whose voice is it? Off duty fireman, Will, was her saving grace. Months later, after the birth of her grandchild and she returns to work, Beverly cannot forget the smoothing voice and the golden eyes. Yes, he is younger but, doesn't she deserve some happiness?

The stories in COUGAR TALES are great romances, those of us who are unsure about being a cougar will enjoy. They may help you say yes or no to a younger man; after all age is only a number. What's in your heart?

Out of the 3 stories, the one by Laura Castoro was my favorite. With that said, DID ANYBODY PROOFREAD THIS BOOK? All the stories had errors, but it seems every other paragraph in Sandra Kitt's story had errors. It made (the errors) for difficult reading.

I thought the stories were great especially "Stormy Weather" by Laura Castoro. However, the lack of proof reading really detracted from the stories. It was frustrating to read lines like a "vender bender" for an accident instead of "fender bender." Even the name of a baby changed within the space of a page! I can't stress enough how this affects a reader's perception of the time it takes to get a book done right!

4.0 out of 5 stars Not Too Old For Young(er) Love, May 19, 2009
This review is from: Cougar Tales (Kindle Edition)
Is forty really the new thirty, or is it just an excuse for an older woman to date a younger man? Perhaps it is another chance at love? In Cougar Tales, three short stories give us a little insight into what it is like to want love and find it in a place and with someone younger than expected.

In "How To Handle A Woman," written by Sandra Kitt, Geneva meets an interesting man at her nephew's charity event, running into him at every turn. Little did she know, her favorite nephew was in the background pumping her up and giving her props. Geneva's first assessment of a man is his age, and when she found herself falling for Bradley, she wonders if it is love. Is it their age difference that causes a rift in their new found relationship, or will they find a way for their love to take root and grow in spite of their ages?

Judge Beverly Polk was accustomed to being alone and working according to her own schedule, but when there was a threat on her life, her good friend, Jack, insisted she allow an officer to be assigned to her 24 hours a day. In "Against Her Better Judgment," written by Evelyn Palfrey, not only was Judge Polk's personal space invaded, but she had to come out of her comfort zone in more ways than one. Was Devon Carter who he said he was? And is the attraction to this younger man something Judge Polk should even consider?

Beverly Freeman was trying her best to get to her daughter and son-in-law in time for the birth of her first granddaughter, but a sudden storm and an unavoidable accident kept her from it and almost cost her her life. While she hung in the balance, Beverly's fears were eased some by the soothing sound of Will's, the off duty fireman, voice and his golden-amber eyes helped her to find strength to hold on until he, along with a rescue team, could free her from her wrecked car. It was Will's eyes that stayed on her mind, even after she recovered and returned to work. In "Stormy Weather," written by Laura Castoro, Beverly found out that she still could be attracted to a man, even if he is younger; but can she let her guard down long enough to experience a love that has escaped her for years? Or will she hide behind her past hurts and sabotage what could be a love that she deserves?

I enjoyed the short stories in Cougar Tales, and recommend it to readers of romance, especially those who enjoy reading about love between an older woman and a younger man.
