Refreshing with a twist,

WOW! I saw the end of his video & loved it. Saw it again from the start & was blown away. A very nice departure from all the "hip-hopsters". Strong voice, phat beat you can groove to with a message for all the ladies look'n for the "ballers". Just a shame there is only the single to quench my thirst for real crooners backing up real music with mature adult theme (i.e. jill scott).

Jaheim's "Could It Be?",
By "adrianthebanker" (Phoenix, AZ USA) - See all my reviews

When I first heard this tune back in October, it became an instant favorite of mine. When I hear Jaheim, I think of Ron Banks of The Dramatics. For evidence of this, listen to the part in the second in the chorus, where he belts out "could it be my chromed-out whip?" in a manner that demands an answer to this musical question. Jaheim is definitely an artist on the rise.

Tight beat, tight lyrics, tight song overall. Check it out if you haven't heard it yet!

Great potential,

Tight vocals, hot track, what more could you ask for? Oh I know! Stronger lyrics. This is a young man with talent. I hope Kay-gee (of Naughty By Nature and his producer) doesn't waste it on goofy lyrics, such as what's happened with NEXT. Here we have a guy with the smooth vocals of Teddy Pendergrass, one of the greatest singers in R&B history. I hope this guy gets a little bit of substance to go with the sauce for his album. Could It Be is cute but give him lyrics that will last over time, not just what's hot right now.

Look out for the **Flava In Ya Ear** Remix,

This is a phat tune, but look for the promo remix - may be hard to find, but it has different vocals and uses the "Flava In Ya Ear" break - it's called the "Could It Be Ghetto Slyck Remix". I picked it up in a record shop in Soho London, and copies are scarce so look hard.

In my opinion this is one of the best cuts on the cd. The cd as a whole is going to be a very good cd.
