5.0 out of 5 stars Imaginative and fun November 29, 2012

First of all, I deeply disagree with the one-star review that claims this is some kind of weird mind meditation or something. This is just a story of simple childhood imagination and pretending you can fly. I know when I was a kid I daydreamed about flying all the time and was convinced for many years that I could actually fly if I just believed hard enough. As for the book itself, the illustrations were great and the story was told in a fun, creative way. I still wish I could fly for real, but luckily, in my dreams (both waking and sleeping) I can still do anything I want!

This book utilizes dangerous Nuero Linguistic Programming techniques to direct young readers into a meditative mental state where they are coached to attempt astral projection. Although astral projection is not real and the affect on the mind is temporary, while in this state inhibitions are significantly lower which could result in children attempting dangerous activities. Most troubling of all, while in this meditative state a child is much more susceptible to demonic influence and possession. A number of new age belief systems and eastern religions incorporate these visualization techniques, most famously Transcendental Meditation, to facilitate their adherents entering an altered state of consciousness.
Please protect your children from unwholesome influences.

5.0 out of 5 stars I STILL can fly! December 22, 2011

I got the Kindle edition, and it has the colored drawings in it. Beautifully done and inspiring!
But you need the Kindle Fire (colored one) or the Kindle for PC to see the full extent of that little book.

When I was a kid I used to "fly" around in my dreams. Over the years, I've learned how to do it consciously. Sometimes I have lucid dreams where I am fully conscious that I am dreaming. Then I can really fly around, anywhere in the world!

Some of my friends have children, and they use the same type of imaginative technique that's found in the book, but with a twist. They chant a special word with their kids, called the HU (pronounced like the word "hue"). It's so easy to do, the kids want to do it every night!

Here's how they (and I) do it:
First get comfortable in your chair or your bed. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. Next, gently put your attention on your inner visual screen. With eyes closed, sing HU, like a long drawn-out sound, HU-U-U-U... it's even better if you put a feeling of love with it (for your mom or dad, or cat or dog...) Sing it for a few minutes if you can. You might imagine that your are flying in your room. See what's below... You might see a Light or hear a Sound... Don't be afraid and let it be... Just flow with it... with love! So simple anyone can do it, young and adults alike, whatever their religion or spiritual path! I always feel great inside when I do this technique.
