Editorial Reviews

"Appropriate and timely, very much needed to fill a major gap in multicultural counseling literature."

"An interesting introduction to gay and lesbian client issues. It would be good for practitioners who need practical suggestions and would be an appropriate reference for students wanting more depth than most multicultural courses on issues related to gay men and lesbians. Specific strengths are the material on gay men, youths, parenting and health."

I really love this book. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the co-authors Colleen Logan at my school before she became the ACA President. She is one of the sharpest and compassionate people I have ever met. The book is a fun interesting read and gives the counselor many different perspectives when counseling the GLBT community. Special issues are addressed and wonderful story like examples are given to help the counselor create a mental picture. This book is a wonderful addition to any professionals library and an easy short read.

I picked up a used copy of this book on the cheap for research purposes in giving a presentation on gender fair and nonsexist counseling at the masters level. The book provided me with the information I needed and I liked two things about it: 1) the price and 2) the clarity of the writing. I have no reason to believe that the information presented is in any way inaccurate or biased.
