Editorial Reviews

Review

One of the first dealing with counseling issues. I especially like the links with specific disorders. "This is an excellent, well documented text, which will serve well as required reading for advanced students in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology." -Lawrence G. Bloom, PhD., Nova Southeastern University Thorough coverage except for theories.

From the Publisher

The second edition of this classic text presents counseling strategies that you can use to assist your clients with communication disorders in coping more successfully with the emotional factors accompanying these disorders. Providing strategies for a wide range of problems, including aphasia, traumatic brain injury, and stuttering, this comprehensive work will help you develop successful relationships with your clients and your clients' families. Based on his forty years of clinical experience, Dr. Rollin shows how counseling techniques and traditional symptomatic strategies for treating the communicatively impaired can be best integrated into practice.
